1.Construction of Farakka began in 1961. Pakistan had petitioned various international organizations about its negative effect on E Bengal. Lieut ZA Khan, CO of the SSG Bn in Eastern Command at the start was tasked and had drawn up a plan to blow up the works.

2. To ruin BD's economy further Gen Uban Singh had planned to blow up the Kaptai HW - something totally unrelated to the ops going on. Luckily for us, the explosives brought by them was insufficient / wrong.
