AARM-24 in Hanoi: ASEAN Armies Rifle meet - Pictures

Galil ACE has both 5.56 and 7.62 version.
And Vietnam chosen 7.62 version to build domestically

VPA fought decades with 7.62 rifles against M-16, they also collected and used many of 5.56 rifles for local militia.
And next gen rifle still 7.62

I just noticed that immediately as i was scanning the pictures he posted. Slippers are a big no no for safety standards. Hopefully the Vietnamese Army can afford proper boots for their soldiers. Boots are only $10.
Come on, you must have realized that they are posing for photo right? They even avoid the bright sun right there. Also those guys are probably local militia, so their equipments cannot match the army yet. In the north the militia still use SKS and some AK47s as their primary weapons.

I'm sure these boys can do the job against territorial threats, however. I've got a lot of respect for Vietnamese foot soldier, no doubt.

Southern guys sometimes like that.
During border conflict with Khmer Rouge, those militias used to guard with some bottles of liquor.
Just like Russian soldiers with Vodka.
