I don't believe everything written on the internet as true and I suggest you shouldn't either.
You're writing on the internet, why should I take your comments or even anecdotal experiences seriously then? I mean clearly you speak from a place of bias which is quite evident.
Point is, there are reputable sources and those that are not. Knowing that Reuters is a reputable source is one of them.
News flash! Racist bunch in the US targets the weak and Pakistani, indian brand doesn't matter.
Yes very true. But for some reason, Pakistanis in NYC felt that they would be safer masquerading as Indians.
Why did they do that? Don't ask me, I can only speculate. But the report is there for you.
Only Jewish or queer brands matter in the US.
That's just plain ignorant of you to say. Where in the US did you complete your schooling? You seem to have a very myopic view of society.
A racist lady in new york pushed a bharti in front of train and later boasted about it. She didn't ask for his nationality before she did it. A white supremacist shot innocent people in a temple and didn't ask if they were indian or not, 2 weeks later in the same area a sikh man was beaten with a metal rod the perp stated he hates their temples. He didn't ask for his ethnicity or nationality before he attacked him.In the 90's way before 9/11 dot busters were know for their nefarious hate crimes against indians. I can cite more and more real life examples to prove that the article is bullshit that has been sugarcoated to make it look like indians are invincible and immune to racism.
That's you missing the woods for the trees. And that is your warped interpretation of the report.
When you say the article is BS, are you claiming this never happened? Because the onus is on you to prove otherwise.
It says nothing about the invincibility or immunity of Indians to racism. What it does though say very clearly is that Pakistanis felt vulnerable enough to masquerade as Indians.
That does not make Indians any less targets of racism, but it does show that Pakistanis in the US consider the Indian brand to be more favorable than their own nationality, ie. Pakistani. Maybe its better for business, maybe these people may have faced racism for being Pakistani.
I cant comment on why they did what they did. But they did it and that's a fact.
Now you may not agree with it, but anyone would take the word of a reputed news orgs over a no name poster on the internet (as per your own admission), and that goes for me too.
Notice, I live in NYC and am a naturalized citizen, but am not using anecdotal evidence to supplant my arguments.
