A Vision: Union of Japan and Vietnam

It is time to think the unthinkable:
Japan and Vietnam to join hands and establish an union of two Soverein nations!

We both are perfect partners:

- similar in cultures and custom
- even similar in look
- Japan economically strong but stagnating, we weak at present but improving everyday
- Japan with rapidly ageing population, Vietnam has very young
- high working ethics in Vietnam, similar to Japan
- Japan with strong Navy, Vietnam with strong Ground force
- Japan as islands being isolated, Vietnam shares its borders with three neighbors including the other ASEAN states
- Most Vietnamese like/love Japan and Japanese people, and I believe so Japan
- last but not least, the China´s factor: alone Japan and Vietnam are too weak, but if we join forces, but we can compete with the giant China.

So what do you think? thinkable, doable or unrealistic?
I would appreciate very much if Japanese members here in the forum say what they think about the idea.

I second that it's a great idea but just....unthinkable.

Yet I agree most of those dashed part. Let me add some tips,

Vietnamese are diligent people only tainted with corruptions.

Vietnamese looks more like Japanese than Koreans do. Vietnamese girls are gorgeous.
(Koreans look like Mongolians with flat and wide faces, high cheeks, small and fat nose, etc)

In Japan most entertainers are Filipinos for someone's information.

Vietnamese in Japan rally against China

TOKYO: About 200 Vietnamese marched through the streets of Tokyo on Saturday to protest against China in a territorial dispute over island groups in the South China Sea.

Chanting "Don't kill fishermen in Vietnam!" in Japanese, the predominantly young protesters walked several kilometres from the fashionable district of Roppongi to another trendy area, Ebisu.

They did not go close to the Chinese embassy in the area.

Organisers, who identify themselves in Japanese as the "Association of Vietnamese to Protect Peace in the South China Sea", said it was the first time Vietnamese living in Japan had staged a demonstration in the country.

"The demonstration was held peacefully," said an official at the local Azabu Police Station, estimating the number of participants at 180.

The rally followed a recent wave of rare public demonstrations in communist Vietnam following the maritime row with China over the potentially oil-rich Paracel and Spratly archipelagos and surrounding waters.

Information about the Tokyo demonstration was spread on Facebook. Many of the protesters wore T-shirts emblazoned with the Vietnamese national flag.

Some banners read in English: "China, stop violating territory of neighbours" and "Chinese way of thinking: What's mine is mine. What's yours is ours." Tensions have heightened in recent weeks in the South China Sea.

Vietnam has held live-fire military exercises after accusing Chinese ships of ramming one oil survey ship and cutting the exploration cables of another. China staged its own three days of military exercises in the area, which state media said were aimed at boosting the country's offshore maritime patrol force.

Japan and Vietnam forge support for maritime security in the East Sea
By Radhika Seth / July 17, 2012 /

Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Koichiro Gemba was in Vietnam recently and one of the directions his talks went was towards cooperation in defense and maritime security. The Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh agrees that the two nations require stepping up their cooperation stand with regards to the East Sea in terms of regional stability and security. The two ministers discussed resolutions to the East Sea disputes based on international and regional laws and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

Their talks were kept in focus with the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East (South China) Sea (DOC) and building a code of conduct (COC) for the parties to the disputes will help maintain maritime security and safety.

Japan will continue to support Vietnam and help it become an industrialized nation by 2020. The two countries propose to celebrate 2013 as the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Year, marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral ties. While promising more investments, the Japanese minster was noticed impressing upon the importance of a corruption-free environment so as to gain trust and encourage transparency.

Vietnam has been long battling with corruption and other social evils, and reforms are being taken to ensure a conducive investment environment. Japanese Minister Gemba also met with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, who co-chaired the fourth meeting of the Vietnam-Japan Cooperation Committee. Once again the main topic in the agenda was the maintenance of maritime security at the East Sea as per the UNCLOS guidelines.

Developing a series of IZs, Vietnam ready to welcome Japanese investors

VietNamNet Bridge – The local authorities in the south have been gearing up with the infrastructure and industrial zone projects so as to get ready to receive the new investment wave from Japan.

Yasuzumi Hirotaka, Director of the Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro), said on Dau tu that the worries about the heavy floods in Vietnam, the difficulties in China and territory disputes between China and Japan have prompted Japanese investors to head for Vietnam.

Ha noi moi has quoted Chair of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) Toshio Nakamura, who headed a group of 120 businessmen in a working visit to Vietnam in late September, as saying that Vietnam is one of the most chosen places for Japanese investors to scale up their business.

**********

what is Dai viet?

Dai Viet (Đại Việt) is the ex-name of Vietnam. Dai Viet has 3 times defeated the invasions of the Mongol Empire, even after it had nabed Chinese lands and founded so-called "Yuan Dynasty" in lands now known "China".
Dai Viet has also repeatedly defeated the Chinese invaders, killed over 100,000 Chinese troops every battle.

Does China have ambitions?

So do Vietnam and Japan. We both have similar land mass, we both share some common interests. Due to Japan´s history in the WW II, it is difficult to Japan to realise some ambitions as some neighbors especially China and Korea closely monitor every move.

It is much better if Vietnam realises ambitions of both nations with the help from Japan.

Don't be nervous!
if ambition means to strive for reunification ,we do have!!!
