A Tribute to International Mother Language Day (21st February)

Muslims in West Bengal are in far better position than the same in Bangladesh, the migration from BD to WB is still going on when no body goes to BD from WB. So all these talks about people repenting their decision of not moving to BD are figment of imagination.

As far as the Pakistan is concerend, well less said the better.

Many people from WB come to Dhaka for work in skilled positions.

As far as mother language day is concern….all bull-shit….since as far as Muslims are concerns the language of ‘Heaven’ is only Arabic not Urdu not even Bengali….so why fight on a matter which all of our forefathers have easily forgotten as of now…!!!

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I'm glad we parted ways in '71! Joy Bangla!:partay:

We wouldn't even see people in WB saying Joy Bangla...

Oh, those enforcers were ever so gentle weren't they? It was all rainbows and bunnies for them whereas all the protesters (not violent but rowdy) were demons needing to be vanquished.

Let me ask you something. Would you say that Russian Muslims keep Russian names and speak Russian? Would you say that Malay Muslims keep Malay names and speak Malay? Would you say that Iranians keep Parsi names and speak Farsi? Would you say that Thai Muslims keep Thai names and speak Thai? Would you say that Indonesian Muslims keep Indonesian names and speak Indonesian? Would you say that American Muslims keep American names (they really do) and speak English?

Cultural factors such as language do not play any role in Islam at all. It was not the use of Arabic that was the issue, it was The Message.

Jinnah wanted a stronger and a united Pakistan. Which was partly why he was aggressive on the use of Urdu only. Fair enough.

Of-course there'd be opponents. What kind of a politician doesn't? Very few Bengalis in fact spoke Urdu. But to slaughter those who oppose you? Oh boy...and that's what ticked them off. And of-course, Uncle Singh had all the opportunity to smash Pakistan into two.

One can break a man's bones, or burn his flesh, but to break a man's spirit is to truly destroy him.

There is difference in working in skilled positions and migration.

brother dont take it personally but nobody really cares about bengali language than BD not even india

Bengali is official language of 3 states in India and one of the 23 officially recognized language by GOI. Thanks.

It sounds to me like some Bengali friends here believe that Bengalies were the only people to have fought for their language. If that is true then I am here to tell you that it is categorically not true. Many people around the world have had to fight for their language, and they have faced much much worse discrimination then merely not being made an official language.

Also, the language of Punjab is Punjabi, not Urdu. So it is a bit non nonsensical to vilify Punjabis for advocating a language that is not even their native tongue.
To me it looks like Punjabi were willing to sacrifice for the greater good of the country.

This is usual canard shown by Pakistanis. Fact is Punjabi has almost the status of second language in Pakistani Punjab while most Punjabis communicate in Hindustani even in their home. It's very easy for a Punjabi to speak Hindustani because two languages are very close. Heck you guys even write Punjabi in Hindustani script.

Dear….Language is not that profound issue for me or any of the masses of Pakistan, if its prominence serves you or any other Bengali any pride than have it wide on your chest, I’m not bothered at all…Simple...!! For me, Political thoughts and maturity are more important than Religion, creed or Language.

As for Mr. Jinnah we all know he is not a religious person at all in fact a secular…but He not only peruses a religious based line of Muslim League but actually create a strong country out of it as well…!! How?? Simply bcz he is genius too as well..!!

Look, as per him the stakes are simple, since the profound difference between us and them was religion therefore, any future state apart from United India would not be viable unless it stands on a sound footing, ground, Ideology and only religion could presents that pillars Muslims needs while tries to make a strong point against their adversaries i.e Hindus. Mere same kind of secularism or any type of nationalism could not stand the onslaught what India might already plan to bring about in future….and he is damn right!!!…we saw it through our own eyes….aka the state of Bangladesh in front of India…even most Bangladeshis including yourself called it a vessel state…at best…!!

So, the bottom line is if not now, sometime in future Bangladesh either to have merge with India or went into a confederation with Pakistan nonetheless, any one of both only for their own good…!!!
