Compared to his Majesty's army, Nazi Germany army behaved like gentlemen. Nazi Germany basically only targeted Jews and at least killed them as human beings. His Majesty's army targeted eveyone and killed people as killing animals.

His Majesty the Emperor of Japan can only assuage the soldiers to behave professionally and to fight the enemy in a proper way. There were over 9 million sons of Japan who fought in the war and their actions were their own. Perhaps we can attribute some brutality due to indoctrination and the environment wherein they fought. War can affect the judgment of even the most civilized and behaved of us.

At the same time The Emperor Showa cannot be too stern on the memory of His soldiers who gladly died in His name. For His honor. This is why we have to understand the special bond the memory of the sons of Japan had to the Emperor, to the Emperor's last breath in this earthly realm.

What a joke? His majesty was the most powerful person in Japan at that time. He could easily sack or sentence those who committed cruel war crimes. There had been not a single case that he criticized war crimes.

Instead, the killings were systematic. You were simply copying from Ghinggis Khan. Use the killing to scare your enemy. Just like the massacre of Nanjing. it was carried out by his brother in law Prince Asaka. Asaka was free from sentence because he belonged to royal families. Other generals were used as scapegoat.

If you can read Japanese, you cannot be surprised at all. This is the current Japan. Their ministers pay tribute to war criminal officially; their people treat those war criminals as the most glorious part of Japan history. Chinese attitudes toward Japan and United States are completely different. The more you understand United States, the more respectful you feel about United States, the competition between China and United States really require Chinese to improve ourselves greatly. The domination by Anglo-Saxon people for the last several centuries is not a coincidence. But The more you understand Japan, the more you dislike Japan. Japan just made good speculative bets in 1900s.

Japanese society is still very barbarian, covered by their prosper built on robbery of asia and their service courtesy. They have no idea of respect and equality. Their foreign policy only have two words: conquered or being conquered. They have no idea how to live peacefully and equally with other countries and other ethnic groups because Japan lived on isolated islands with poor resources. They rarely had a luxury to live peacefully and equally with independent policies. In ancient times they were dominated by China and in modern times, they are dominated by Anglo-Saxon people. Showa era was the only memorable era for Japan to live independently.

I can understand Japanese longing for living as an independent country. But before they learn how to live and collorate equally and peacefully with other countries and ethnic groups, they will have not a single chance to become an independent country. Even though Japan-ASEAN relations very good, Japanese have no way to feel equally with those south asian. They just think that ASEAN should develop with Japan as its core by providing resources and markets to Japan.

Interesting, I have a lot of questions but my experience with Japanese friends has taught me that many questions about person and family are not appreciated in Japanese culture. I have a broken understanding of the language, words, basic sentences and honorifics (very important) but I really want to learn the whole language some day and then experience the culture to my fullest.

Perhaps, my friend, we can collaborate with each other here. Perhaps in another historical-based thread . Would like to be open to that possibility.
