Its really sad. I have even heard of Americans who joke around that "The Indians have it easy they have casinos in the reservations now". Really? As if being forced out of their ancestral land and having their culture and heritage annhihilated is justified by giving them 'reservations' to live in and having casinos. And yet it is normal and Americans even consider the 'brotherhood' of Mesoamericans and celebrate this every November 25 on Thanksgiving Day.

Can Japan criticise constantly other " versions" without being criticised for criticising? The last thing I want to see are young people not being allowed to use their minds to think and ask questions for fear of legal or social repercussions.

People should also be allowed to find out if there were Chinese war crimes? If so, people should be allowed to ask questions regarding them.

Taiwan was developed because KMT looted the whole China before they left the mainland. When they left for Taiwan in 1949, they had collected taxes for 1990s. KMT put the whole China's wealth and forex reserves to build Taiwan and also half of Chinese talents. Less than 10% of Taiwan projects were built by Japan. You have to understand that not all societies are as open as ours, my friend. In other societies you are prescribed to believe in a certain 'truth', else be labelled a war supporter or 'Hanjian'. I have a friend who studied her Ph.D in economics at the University of Tokyo , she now works at a research firm here in the United States. Let's be honest when i say this that she told me that some Chinese (taiwanese to be exact) colleagues referred to her as 'Hanjian' even 'J@p lover' when they found out she graduated from UoT. And yes she is fluent in Japanese.

I agree with many persons here,I think before pointing out how Japan was bad,everyone should look at others,everyone during their history weren't innocents and committed crimes or even genocides. So,everycountry shouldn't be taken serious when they say ;

I am not saying that China, United States or WWII winners are clean. But this is not an excuse for Japan to deny their wrong doings. In the court, can you say that other people are not punished for this crime and then I should not be punished too? Especially for Showa, he was the demon of Imperial Japan. Meiji took Taiwan from China and colonized Korea. But he was still respected by Chinese and Koreans. When Japan pays tributes to Meiji, you see no complains from China and Korea. But Showa crossed the line and went on to ethnic cleansing.

Meiji conquered Asia by his reform, Showa conquered Asia by his brutality.
