Before i say anything, I make it clear that i am a kashmiri migrant, I have seen the horror of leaving kashmir in early 90's though i was just i child. My parents have a spend a great part of their lives in Srinagar, Kashmir.

I have heard and seen the human tragedy in Kashmir, where families living just accross a river but in two 'countries' have seen their brothers, sisters and relatives growing up, marrying or even dying but not been able to participate in their lives. They live across a river, but are not able to attend a funeral or a birthday.Sometimes they throw stones with messages on them across. Some try sending radio broadcasts. They are ordinary humans, like you and me. A political dispute should not be the cause of human suffering.

What i propose is the creation of a buffer zone. This zone can be in shape a park or a retreat.
Half of it on the pakistani side and half of it on the indian.ONLY kashmiris should be allowed to go in, after checking for weapons, contraband etc.Only passport would be needed, not visa.Permission should be limited to one day only. However a person can come manytimes consecutively and thus meet relatives.

Facilities should exist like restaurants, gardens and even wedding halls, or such as are essential to Kashmiri culture.A Kashmiri style temple and a Kashmiri style mosque may be included. This will allow people to conduct marriage cermonies with each others families in attendance.A cemetery and a burning ground may be added, so that people may attended the funerals of their relatives. It is not very hard, it needs only some human compassion.

I also suggest a more improved trade route, and a system of banking to allow money exchanges.currently indo-pak trade relies on barter system, and they have some kind of positive list, which should be replaced by a negative list.

Small steps will lead to greater normalization in this fractured state. I hope PDF members will be understanding and not bicker around but approach this issue in human capacity.
