A 'Marshall Plan' for Afghanistan

Also, they need to rebuild their agricultural sector, Afghanistan use to be able to feed itself without imports. It should be able to do so again.
Issue is water. Afghanistan needs help to adapt to modern water efficient agriculture. Even with that, It may be always dependent on food imports.
Why don't idiots in Pakistan suggest a 'Marshal Plan' for Pakistan??
Peace and prosperity in Afghanistan is part of any Marshal plan for Pakistan.

Every little bit that helps them get to food self sufficiency will be important as the effects of climate change are unpredictable.

Here in New Jersey, Dept. offering us Afghan kids for adoption, thrown by their parents for USA, 14 are available at this time.
What a shame.

What a shame.

There is no shame in adopting children to give them a better future.

Not shame for adopting, but throwing. Different things.

Again, that only speaks to the desperation of the parents, again something that is not shameful at all.

Pakistan invested around $1 billion in socio-economic projects in Afghanistan.

****-Afghan relations are beyond any group & govt, historic cultural & religious ties can't be damaged by few protests by the spoilers. People on both sides must not fall for it -

this is my view

Taliban stays in power now for decades to come

Qatar, Pakistan and Turkey are alleged with Afghanistan

China provides huge investment in infrastructure

Taliban also reform to to control Afghanistan in correct manner

this is what I hope for
Feelings are mutual.
But in the absence of any other political party in afghanistan. This will be some kind of a kingdom or khilafat?
So the upcoming challenge is Afghanistan need to convince the major world powers that we are no democracy and we have our own system for selecting leaders. Accept us just like the way you accepted Saudi Arabia.

Good point. Use Saudi Arabia as a reference to convince the West to accept the Taliban Emirate. And for global legitimacy, it is the West (basically, Americans) who matter and that point was underscored by Pakistan's NSA M. Yusuf in a recent interview.

The so called west and US are full of hypocrisy. Just for the sake of oil and regional interests they accepted Saudi Arabia for a long long time, not even once criticized SA for a non democratic country, unequal distribution of wealth and most importantly women rights. Up until recently they allowed women to drive and work. But afghanistan is the only country where women are not free according to western media. Simply because if Taliban comes to power the west and India will not have the opportunity to loot natural resources of afghanistan and to threaten china and Russia in the region.

Yes. It is hypocrisy.
But Saudi Arabia was accepted by the West (and even created by the West) many decades ago. It was an era where 'human rights and 'women rights' etc were not in vogue.
This is a different era. No Western politician can 'sell' this to their countrymen a Taliban recognition without some 'optics'. Taliban must give at least some level of freedom that even countries like Saudi Arabia give. Not only it's in their own interests but also in the regional and Pakistan's interests.

And this latest Al Jazeera video is pointing toward that kind of direction the Taliban must take. Do note, the Qatari Foreign Minister was just in Pakistan meeting his Pakistani counterpart. There is a LOT behind the scene going on...

But later when they were in vogue why they didn't raise a voice for SA women??
They will keep silent as long as SA keeps supporting them in respect to Israel and other nefarious agendas in the middle east.
US policy makers, politicians are filthy , stinky from head to toe.
