A quarter spreading lies about export sector after Narayanganj fire: BTMA

The Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) has alleged that a vested quarter has been spreading false statements about the country's export-oriented industries in the wake of the recent fire at Hashem Foods factory in Narayanganj.
Noting that such propaganda is tarnishing the image of the country's export sector, the association called on the government to identify those involved and stop it.

BTMA Director Md Monir Hossain spoke on the issue during a discussion with the journalists on Saturday. At that time a written statement of BTMA President Mohammad Ali Khokon was provided to the journalists.

In the statement, the BTMA president said, "With grave concern, the BTMA has observed that after the fire incident, a domestic and foreign quarter has been trying to disrupt the prevailing peace and order of the country's industrial sector with various unsolicited statement centering the incident."

"Some people are tarnishing the image of our export oriented industries by spreading rumors in the country and abroad. We strongly protest this and completely against of this outspread of false propaganda," he said.

"The negative comment is damaging our image in the outside world, which is purely intentional. We are requesting the government to identify them and stop their misconduct," he continued.

"Our export oriented industries, especially RMG and textile mills, have followed and continue to follow the compliances set by the Accord and Alliance after the tragic incident of Rana Plaza. Therefore, it has been widely applauded in the world," he added.
Monalisa Mannan, director, BTMA was present among others at the discussion.

Everything is done by India, yes absolutely!

Now who else would be against BD , I don't think Myanmar has the capabilities and the West doesn't care so there's one country who always bad mouths us and that is INDIA.

Kinda like when someone goes against India and Indians scream " You're a Pakistani " or " You're Chinese "

Why would it only be neighbours? And it was mostly Al Jazeera who was reporting on it, Indian media didn’t write long opinion pieces apart from only news stories.

But the thing is that the Indian news outlets don't care lol , any chance they get they would love to shit on BD to get brownie points.

Could be Al Jazeera but then again why anyways , they might as well report again on Sheikh Hasina

Well the fact remains that Indian GDP per capita is now lower than ours and their industrialists gain if Bangladesh suffers in exports. And they are trying as heck to block Bangladeshi exports to Indian market.

Plain as day what kind of chhotolok Sanghi Banyas are....they aren't content enough to cheat Indian customers for the better part of ten decades, they have ensured that Bangladeshi customers get cheated on their third rate goods too and resist any competition at any cost whether in their home market or abroad, if they can get away with it.

A country's image is tarnished when that country is unable to initiate watchdog bodies to look over the matters of creating rules and their implementation to stop the breaking out of fires and even if it happens it does not take innocent working people's lives on the factory floors.

BD remains as stupid as always it has been through the last 7 decades. Its Chief Executives are just unable to build systems to stop this kind of mishap. Emergency exits are just not there in the factories. Even if there are a few, they remain under the lock and key. People are unable to open them in times of emergency. After all, this is Golden Bangladesh!!

It means we are a group of callous people who lack every good quality needed to run the country properly. Now, people are blaming foreigners when the country's top Executives themselves are solely responsible for the fire accidents one after another.

In a responsible country, the entire Cabinet would have resigned, instead.

Sadly true , BD was never destined to succeed

And unfortunately the ways of these top execs are rubbing off on the people.

We have poor people on the streets with severe illnesses that have never been looked at. We know the reason why.
