Taliban is an umbrella organization just like ttp and many Pakistanis still are amongst Taliban ranks and many pro pak. We still have many allies in them.
Just some elements in Qandhari faction in particular want war with us.
They don’t even get along with each other. Afghan Pashtun northerners don’t get along with southerners that will and Haqqanis and Qandhari factions don’t get along even fight sometimes amongst them self.

Taliban was created in 1994.

Check how many TB factions broke away and joined other Islamist groups after Mullah Omar’s death. Some claimed Mullah Omar was killed by Mullah Mansour and his allies. Even from Osama Bin Laden’s papers and letters after the Osama raid it revealed that he didn’t trust many TB faction and fighters especially Mullah Birader and the ppl In charge rn. Fast forward now, they’ve sold out and got many foreign fighters droned and zawahiri.
Taliban like TTP are an umbrella org with many factions with widely different views and loosely united.
TTP now is more etho nationalist then it ever was just look at their language. TTP with Noor Wali is just more etho nationalist then ever they act like ptm armed wing.

Like his son SS, he seems to be more concerned with begging for money around the world.

He should be holding negotiations with senior Taliban leadership to secure western border. He should be notifying them that these splinter groups will not be tolerated.

Instead, he’s leaving the wet work for the Intel Agencies while taking trips around the world and reporting to his bosses in Langley.

There needs to be a political front active simultaneously with military operations and maintaining border defense. Targeting these fringe elements via Intel agencies by conducting assassinations is like taking pain killers for cancer instead of undergoing chemotherapy.

Negotiations with TTP failed. So what’s the next step? Tell the IEA a pick a side. Hiding behind a fence and being indecisive will only result in more attacks on Pakistani soldiers and civilians.

These are the steps any half competent COAS would take, but alas he’s busy playing king maker with a government that can’t even pacify their own citizens. How exactly are they in any position to negotiate with IEA?
