A few days after the departure of the emir of Qatar, Some Qatari emirs enter in Algeria via bootlegging paths, to hunt the bustard houbara. They go back in Algeria by the paths of the bootlegging, without paying taxes of passage and without being submitted to custom or security control. They come through the borders, without passport whereas they are not contraband barons, nor terrorism emirs. These are the emirs, true ones. These are the emirs of Qatar, who are fond the Algerian Sahara, and more precisely, the regions situated on the borders between the Departments of Biskra and El Oued. They come to hunt the bustard, whose flesh seems, according to them, to have aphrodisiac virtues.
- One week ago, a delegation of Qatar had stayed in the Algerian south, to hunt the bustard. The delegation left our country some days before the Ad Al Adha, so that another group comes on its turn. The emirs of Qatar came back effectively but clandestinely this time. They came in our country via the region of Ben Kecha, situated in the wilaya of El Oued, while they spend the night in Tunisia since the beginning of the first days of Aid Al Adha. They spend the days hunting what remains of bustards in the desert of El Oued, in the non controlled regions between the two parts (Algerian and Tunisian) of the village of Ben Kecha.
- According to local sources, sheiks of the family of Hamed Ben Khalifa Al Thani enter the Algerian territories under escort, to hunt the bustard during all day, before returning in Tunisia at the night by the same non official passages, generally paths used by the traffickers and the smugglers.
- The hunt of the bustard by the sheiks of Qatar, only intervenes two days after the emir of Qatar and his brother did their hunt in the same region of Kecha accompanied by a strong delegation of Golf businessmen and specialists of hunt, cooking and other services of Hindu, Pakistanis, Iranians and Tunisian nationalities whose number reached 70 people carried in Four Wheel Drive vehicles. They made up about forty tents, big format, helped in their task by natives. They moved during all this period, between the regions of Debiyi, El Khella and Echekchak, in the surroundings of the places of hunt of the bustard.
- Noting that the ministry of agriculture prepared texts of law related to the interdiction of hunt, approved by the parliament in 2005, where it was proceeded to the classification of the rare species among which are the bustard and the gazelle, the two species wanted by the emirs of Golf in Maghreb in a general manner and particularly Algeria.
- The ministry of the environment had declared on its side on the necessity of protecting these species in 2004 because of the risk of the extinction of these rare species which are protected by international laws, before Ouyahia does allow the hunt of the bustard.
- …And the ministry of the environment ignored all
- According to the Minister's counsellor, of the ministry f environnement, regional development and tourism, Mr. Aârab, the ministry doesn't possess any information on the operation of hunt in the Algerian Sahara by the emirs of Golf. This latter tried to deny the information according to which there would be operations of hunt threatening the species of animals and the ecosystem in Algeria.

Mr. Président, WE Algerian citizens and citizens of the world, would like to inform you MASSACRE of endangered animal species (Gazelles, Bustards, Fennec ...) protected by Algerian laws and international laws. These CRIMES are the result of "sport" practices of another age, committed by emirs from Arabia, with all paraphernalia worthy of safari expeditions, moreover, it does not even benefit the local people! Mr. President, are the laws of the Republic valid for the Algerians only?! And what will be left of our natural heritage for future generations?! We, as responsible citizens, solemnly ask you to act as it should be to end these CRIMES committed by individuals who benefit from the support and convenience of public authorities to perform their packages!
With a surface area of over 2.38 million square kilometers, Algeria is the largest country in the Mediterranean Basin and the second largest in Africa after Sudan. The northern part of the country enjoys a Mediterranean climate with forest, maquis and garigue vegetation types. Some relict, cold and temperate montane forest also survives. To the south, hot, dry desert climates dominate.
Some 90% of Algeria’s 33 million citizens live in the northern part of the country, near to the coast. In contrast, the vast desert expanses of the south are sparsely inhabited by some 1.5 million nomadic and semi-nomadic pastoralists. In both north and south, overuse and abuse of natural resources, combined with the negative effects of poaching and habitat loss, have resulted in widespread wildlife endangerment and extinction, particularly of the country’s antelopes and larger carnivores.
To stop the squandering of its natural resources, Algeria promulgated its first Hunting and Environment Protection laws in 1982-83. These were followed by various decrees and government orders establishing lists of protected animals and plants, and the creation of new protected areas.
In 2003, in the context of sustainable development, a new law was passed for Environment Protection. In addition, a new Hunting Law was passed in 2004.
In spite of the strong legislative framework strictly prohibiting the exploitation of protected wildlife, a lack of enforcement capacity to control hunting and poaching has led to the critical endangerment of Saharan gazelles and antelopes, three of which, the scimitar-horned oryx, the addax and the dama gazelle, have already been lost.
As part of its commitment to conserve Saharan antelopes and other wildlife, Algeria ratified the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) in 2005. In 2006, a Presidential Order strengthened measures against poachers and illegal hunters. Algeria has also ratified the African Convention on the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, the CITES Convention, the Ramsar Convention, and the Convention on Biological Diversity. Under the impetus of its Minister of the Environment, Algeria is also actively working within the framework of the Convention to Combat Desertification (CCD). The Minister, M. Chérif Rahmani, was also instrumental in setting up the World Deserts Foundation in 2002.
Algeria is officially endowed with 11 national parks. Eight of these fall under the remit of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. One, the Djebel Aïssa National Park, was gazetted by the Ministry of Land Settlement and Environment. The two remaining protected areas, both in the central Sahara, the Ahaggar (450,000 km²) (pictured above) and Tassili (80,000 km²) National Parks, are critically important for the conservation and restoration of Saharan ungulates and large carnivores like the cheetah and leopard. Both parks fall under the remit of the Ministry of Culture.
In the Great Western and Eastern Ergs, where protected areas have yet to be established, the country’s last remaining populations of slender-horned gazelle are on the brink of extinction. Habitat destruction and poaching in the High Plateaus and Tellian and Saharan Atlases are also threatening the Cuvier’s gazelle. To remedy the situation, the Direction Générale des Forêts is actively implementing a GEF/UNDP-funded project for the sustainable development and use of biodiversity in the Mergueb Nature Reserve and Taghit National Park. Protected areas like these can play a significant role in the conservation of Algeria’s Cuvier’s, slender-horned and dorcas gazelles, as well as its vulnerable populations of Barbary sheep and houbara bustard.
In March 2005, the Sahelo-Saharan Interest Group (SSIG) carried out a wildlife survey in the Ahaggar National Park in collaboration with the park’s authorities. With a focus on wild ungulates and cheetahs, SSIG experts helped train local staff and scientists from the University of Bejaïa and the Agence Nationale pour la Conservation de la Nature (ANN). An Algerian scientist also participated in a training course in Conservation Biology and Wildlife Management held in Namibia (2004) with support from the Smithsonian Institution, The Living Desert, SSIG and the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Further missions have been carried out in both the great Eastern and Western Ergs, with strong support from the Smithsonian Institution. Copies of Technical Reports can be downloaded from the SCF Resources page.
With a view to increasing cooperation between SCF and Algeria, an MOU with the Direction Générale des Forêts was signed in January, 2007. In December of the same year, an MOU was only signed in Algiers with the World Deserts Foundation. These create a strong framework for cooperation on a broad range of conservation and capacity-building issues.
According to Al Watan.com
There is a massive influx of emirs of the Gulf for a couple of days , they came to poaching in southern Algeria . These are the wilaya (province) of Biskra , El Bayadh Laghouat that record the early settlements.
According to reliable sources , members of the Saudi royal family will join soon Mouhiken area , in the province of Laghouat . The former emir of Qatar , Sheikh Hamed Bin Khalifa Al Thani , accompanied by former Foreign Minister of Qatar, Hamed Ben Djassem is also announced . There are some days , a Qatari plane landed at Hassi R'Mel where he is currently an unusual move for the material deposit. The operation is performed under strict control. According to airport workers , were made available all the resources for the crew to make their task easier. Real fields , 4x4 armored and sophisticated equipment have been landed .
The emirs prefer to land at smaller airports , namely Biskra , Laghouat , or Ghardaia Hassi R'Mel , not to attract attention. A total of seven major personality of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, at least for the moment , choosing the destination Algeria to spend their winter holidays and practice of poaching. Morocco destination is not so popular. Algerian climate suits them best . The mass flow is explained by insecurity recorded in neighboring countries because of the events of the Arab Spring . Usually, in addition to Algeria , the emirs " poachers " chose Libya, Tunisia , Mauritania, Mali and Sudan. Come to live under the escort of the security forces . According to rumors, are considered " guests of the presidency. "
Intervention groups gendarmerie and national military were mobilized to monitor their fields and to ensure their movements. Hunting Bustard ( Houbara ) is much appreciated by poachers who continue to be desired. They also urged the Algerian authorities to allow them to hunt this species, which Algeria has finally accepted after a six -year ban . It must be said that the emirs benefit of complicity and facilitation of their guests. Businessmen, one of Djelfa and another from Ghardaia , are force fed by poachers gifts. According to our sources , 200 special haj passports were issued by the Saudi authorities to have their incentives to find work and on-site assistance . And that their equipment is safe after their departure

How many times do you need to be told that this news is a complete lie? Yet even after realizing that you continue.

What a shameless liar.
Among all the GCC pdf, your are the only one who contests the information published by Algerian newspaper and media at large. You are the one who is diluted, since you can't differentiate lies you spread in this forum and the truth. Most of the participating PDF know your excesses despite the protective ambrella of some of the moderators. Beside being a bigot, a racist you are have strong case of mytho-megalomania. The subject may not of your liking , lying to hide and cover the perfidy and the against nature behavior of your rulers, is your right , but to raise kane to shut the thread is not!
Nor will your lie become a truth just because you keep posting random photos from hunting trips which are not from Algeria and could be anywhere.
Like they say a picture, is worth of thousand words...and they speak for themselves...no matter what you said ....
Nobody is interested to hunt in Algeria as there are no special animals to hunt. Let alone animals that cannot be hunted practically in every other single Arab country.
Those Emir poacher are everywhere, the one that come to Algeria are for interest to me and my countrymen..I posted this thread to raise the awareness among the PDF's whose countries are playground for poacher while in their own country harsch punishements are given to any who broke the law for the same crime.
KSA has more natural parks and reserves in the ME than any other country in terms of total size. Some of the national parks in KSA are bigger than certain countries in the world
The country has come a long way to protect its rich animal and plant life after the sad events of the 19th century and early 20th century when animals such as lions, cheetahs (some are still in the UAE and elsewhere on the Peninsula though), Arabian gazelles, Arabian ostriches etc. became extinct and animals such as Arabian leopards, Arabian wolfs etc. were under serious threat and many other animals which thankfully survived.
My point exactly! they protect their fauna while they decimate other countries.
Oh, they are still not "Emirs" but random civilians already caught.
Please give me a break...A civilian with a cargo plane to transport $500,000 plus vehicle..nice going!
That video can still be watched on Youtube under its original name.
Nope, it has been removed...How much did you pay to get it removed...

When will this notorious troublemaker get banned again for continuing to violate forum rules by spreading lies on the forum with the sole intention to start flame wars? His first thread was blocked, the second deleted. Now he started again? He seems not to understand the message given to him.
It isn't a flame war as you call it. It is a subject of my concern that I am sharing in PDF..Like I said above, among all the participants Sauds, you are the only one who complains, like you complain about many things on KSA or on subject that do not highlight the wonder GCC.
This picture is taken in Pakistan, wonder what the Pakistani farmers think about their fauna being hunted for fun
