At least three people were killed and seven others injured on Wednesday following an explosion in Khuzdar's Nall area, officials said.

According to Express News, the blast occurred near a college in the Nall area of Khuzdar as authorities have confirmed the fatalities and casualties.

The police stated that three people were killed and seven others were injured in the blast. The bodies and the wounded have been transferred to Nall Hospital for treatment.

Authorities are currently working to determine the nature of the explosion.

The blast occurred a day after security forces successfully foiled an attack by Fitna al-Khawarij on Bannu Cantonment, killing all 16 terrorists involved. In the clash, five soldiers embraced martyrdom, while 13 innocent civilians lost their lives and 32 others were injured.

ISPR reported that five brave soldiers attained martyrdom in the confrontation, and the terrorists, in their desperation, rammed two explosive-laden vehicles into the cantonment walls. The suicide bombings caused a portion of the cantonment wall to collapse.

ISPR also called on the Afghan interim government to prevent its territory from being used for attacks against Pakistan, asserting that Pakistan reserves the right to take necessary actions against threats originating from across its borders.

Two people were killed and 17 others injured after an explosion occurred near a police vehicle in the Barech Market area on Quetta’s Double Road, officials said.

“Two people were killed and 17 were injured in an explosion on Quetta’s Double Road,” said Balochistan’s health department spokesperson Dr Waseem Baig. “The injured have been moved to the trauma centre at Civil Hospital.”

Civil Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Abdul Hadi Kakar told Dawn.com that the condition of four wounded people is critical.

The Balochistan Government Spokesperson Shahid Rind said in a statement that the explosion occurred near a police vehicle, adding that the nature of the blast was being determined.

A Dawn.com correspondent present at the site of the incident also said that a police vehicle was hit by the explosion.

Last week, a member of the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) was martyred and six others were injured —three of them critically— when a roadside bomb targeted a police vehicle on Quetta’s Brewery Road.

The security situation in Balochistan has deteriorated over the last few months, with separatist militants frequently attacking police and armed forces personnel.

The outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), in particular, has adopted new tactics to cause higher casualties and directly target Pakistani security forces. Last year, the Interior Ministry noted a “significant rise in terrorism incidents and evolving terrorism patterns” since the Afghan Taliban seized control of Kabul in August 2021, especially in the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’s activities in KP, the Baloch nationalist insurgency in Balochistan, and ethno-nationalist violence in Sindh.

Militants in Balochistan have recently intensified their attacks, with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) emerging as a key perpetrator of terrorist violence in Pakistan in 2024.

Five people were killed by armed men who blocked the highway late last night, while three long-body trailers carrying urea from Gwadar port were set on fire in the Tajaban area, according to Highway Police Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hafeez Baloch.

Officials said four people were killed in the Kalmat area between Pasni and Ormara after being offloaded from a Karachi-bound passenger bus.

“Armed men killed four passengers after checking their ID cards and took away three others,” an official of the local administration said, adding that they belonged to Punjab.

Security forces had moved towards the area where militants had blocked highways, with operations to clear the roads underway.

Soon after receiving information about the incident police rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and the injured to hospital. The driver was identified as Khair Bakhsh.

The martyred officials were later identified as Inspector Abdul Wali, Constable Abdul Rehman, and Constable Mukhtiar.

Following the tragic incident, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack and vowed that the blood of the martyrs would not go in vain.

“The cowardly attackers will be brought to justice,” said CM Bugti, adding that the state is not weak and those attempting to disrupt peace in Balochistan would receive the harshest response. He assured that a full-scale operation will be launched against terrorists and that no space will be left for such elements in the province.

Just a day ago, a Frontier Corps personnel lost his life in a gun attack in Noshki area.

Police said the victim, identified as Muhammad Zahir, was targeted by assailants riding motorcycles in the Qadirabad area.

He belonged to the district and was home on vacations.

The police moved the body to the district hospital in Noshki. The FC personnel received multiple bullet injuries that caused his death on the spot.

Police said the attack was target killing.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after completing medico-legal formalities.

No group has claimed responsibility for the killing, while the police have registered a case against unknown attackers.

Separately, a man was seriously injured in a hand grenade attack in Kharan town late on Tuesday night.

Police said unidentified men riding motorcycles threw a hand grenade near the Commissioner’s Office, which exploded at the roadside, resulting in injuries to a passerby.

Police shifted the injured man to a hospital.

The powerful explosion also damaged the window panes of nearby houses.

Last night, BLA terrorists attacked the Banglor FC post in Gulingur, Noshki.

After fierce resistance from the FC, resulting in two BLA militants killed, the group fled and targeted a nearby Levies post instead.

Claims of an attack on the FC headquarters are false, as the BLA lacks the capability for such an assault. This marks another failed attempt by Mahrang's associates.
