Who are these leftist historians we are talking about here?
And how many of them are from DU ? :)

p.s. Jinnah seems to be an interesting character. He wanted to do something, probably was not clear about the means and outcomes. The Muslim elites surely exploited him a lot.

The lunatics, having got free, and vastly outnumbering the guards, are now officially in charge of the asylum.

Well ! They can be labelled as the ones that have advocated distorted Indian History .
Aryan Invasion Theory .
Divide between Aryan and Dravidian
Black vs White and this list never ends .

Recent addition to it will be Neta JI SC Bose and real truth of Nehru .

.
so sanghis will have their own facts and write their own history just to feel better?
They will call fairy tales as history. Worse they might write research(STEM) papers based on these fairy tales. Already tried to do that in Indian Science Congress no less. The shock and awe it generated made them cool down a bit. For now they will focus their energies on history books.

People in India have a wrong notion that anyway history is what is written by winners. Let us write our own. There is no fact checking. And every Tom Dick and Harry can write junk without having to study and understand complicated Math. So History is a very vulnerable subject.

Jinnah was not a kid. He played with fire for a quid-pro-quo and died before the fire started burning the country he created.

You missed the part where he let a lot many die because of his fantasies

I don't think he expected that though. I think he genuinely felt bad when so many people died. He was naive about that part. Where he expected Congress to fold and leave entire Bengal and Punjab to him. And that India and Pakistan will separate without any violence(He wanted to live in Mumbai; a sad lol). He was never a mass politician, never got people's nerve. Otherwise he would have understood the consequences.

First, the Science Congress was a resounding success. For the first time in their lives it got the sufficient funds to advertise itself properly. It is a platform for ALL scientific ideas and hypothesis. Not just those of the Right, Left. Not restricted to what YOU or even 99.99% scientists consider acceptable and not acceptable. That is the purpose of a Science Congress - to put the more difficult to believe concepts into public domain. Like the Congress of Religion where Vivekananda spoke. A public platform. Where no voice is silenced.

Second, nobody cooled down. The projects have all been sufficiently funded. The leftist myopic elite have been replaced from both the scientific bodies (where they were in very few numbers) and even from ICHR. The focus happened last year and already a number of irregularities have been fixed. Other errors will be corrected, after the due research is done.

There is no Left Liberal Secular monopoly of the information that is available today. So the idea of the Right Wing holding history hostage to ideology is not just ridiculous, but treacherous and disgustingly dishonest. The self hating clique has been done away with - and that is what will be. 20 or more years down the line, people will say that yes, this was the time when India began reclaiming her soul - with her head held high.

Jinnah was a typical 'sickular' Indian. He knew perfectly well what he was getting into. He was a shrewd lawyer and lawyers are trained to gain foresight. He was not a fool like Nehru either. He knew his strength and the weakness of the Hindus and exploited it accordingly. A master strategist.

before the fire started burning the country he created.
There was no fire. LOL. Pakistan was a stable military dictatorship. :D

Only after they lost control of their pets did they become a failed state. That was in the late nineties(apart from the 1971 debacle). Not before that. There were many other successful dictatorships - among them South Korea, Singapore etc. So no, the fire came much much later.

In India I guess you call these people pseudo secularists (that's the phrase used in this forum anyway).

Better word is SICKULARS :D

so sanghis will have their own facts and write their own history just to feel better?

As i have said it again & again - INTOLERANCE in India is RISING!!

Dude, scientific hypothesis are not left or right wing - they are just true or false.

As for the historians, the case being made is that there was some lying and cheating involved? As history is more interpretative in nature, and If we have, it seems dishonest people running the governments historical research department, we need to break the monopoly and give grants generously to all shades of historians and private institutes and their papers peer reviewed by the opposite camp, so that we get at the real truth whatever it may be.

Sure buddy. Totally agree with you. I will send a suggestion to them, to include a flat-earthist in the speakers next year. Scientists need some lighthearted fun.
I am all for openness in such scientific platforms, even if it means just spewing some BS hypothesis and running away without backing it up with any proof(you know as in real science). Luckily the forum by definition will simply reject such junk. Lol. 'No voice is silenced'. Who has silenced them all these years? They should have started a website like the flat earth society did. Ohh wait may be they already did.

Lol. There cannot be a leftists scientist and rightist scientist. By definition they would be rationalists. And rational observation will sooner or later put these grand theories of past to where they belong. If from all the research, they confirm a fact or two of genuine achievements of our long lost history, then I welcome it. But we should leave mythology where it belongs. No point wasting money unless there is a way to reproduce results of the myths(Pheww unfortunately zilch so far).

Treacherous to whom? Right wing is not holding history hostage. I never said so. They are making an honest attempt though.

Any rational analysis of facts before us, you call as self-hating. You will make India a laughing stock by making such ridiculous claims. Even Greeks claim that Troy was real, but they don't claim that Zeus had used an electro magnetic machine to create a storm and destroy Ulysses' fleet. I wonder if there are people like the Sanghis in Greece who pester the scientists.

And just by replacing some people you are dreaming that a conspiracy of self-haters, coordinated by God-knows-who in your nightmares, will end. That is paranoia and some sorry waste of time. First there have to be so many self-haters and second they should have some strong underground to be able to control 'history' like that.

'Reclaiming her soul'?!, please enough with your pretense of grandeur. India's soul has already been with it. History was altered to give a disproportionate screen time to Nehru-Gandhi family. No doubt. But even that is not much in our history textbooks(Most actions are in our books are attributed to institutions and not people. For example I read that India freed Bangladesh. It does not say Indira Gandhi did), but in popular discourse parroted by Congressi chamchas everyday. But what the right is seeking to do is also equally stupid. Nehru contributed a lot to India and the attempt to erase this part of history cannot be hidden.

AIT was destroyed by Indian scientists, how can they become self-haters? It takes some time for the theory to totally vanish from textbooks as more scholarship confirms its faults. People who do not understand this are drowsing themselves in their ignorance feeling that it is some conspiracy by self-haters.

Lol. Jinnah was not secular. He was a power monger. I don't know/care where you would want to classify him otherwise.

There was no fire. LOL. Pakistan was a stable military dictatorship. :D

Punjab radicalization -> Partition riots -> Tribal invasion and atrocities -> Ahmedi riots -> One unit -> Language riots -> Baloch/bengali insurgency -> Bangladesh -> Ahmedi outlawing -> ZAB murder -> blasphemy laws -> Afghan Jihad -> Madarasas funding -> Shia Sunni strife -> Kashmir insurgency -> Ahmedis/Hazaras/Christians/Hindus and who not targeted -> Snakes coming home to roost -> Suicide bombings -> Peace deals with terrorists -> Bombing own civilians -> Letting others bomb its civilians -> Hosting Bin Laden

I am tired now. Add some oil into it nuclear weapons.

I see fire:flame:all along. Jinnah went without seeing all this. There are many other minor things which seem unimportant now because they are in remote past or because we forget, but were significant at that time. Like Joginder Nath Mandal running away from Pakistan(Freaking law minister of a country escapes!!), Abdus Salam's grave violation, Objectives resolution- for a few

Incorrect. There exists a very real Right and Left scientific thinking. The personal biases play a major role. The outcomes are neutral, but the initial claims and the motive behind finding them are often driven (naturally) by one's own biases.

First, your previous sentences belong to the sentimental junk category. I don't have that personally against you. Perhaps that would be 'foreplay'.

That was only recently. The chacha secular narrative sticks to the AIT. Except for the Romilla now rocking the boat.

The C.S.('chacha secular') group considers him to be secular. Joe also considers him to be a secular.

Pakistan is not a state. It's an anomaly. You are searching for fire in an inferno. :disagree:

Lol. What are you comparing that with? Vedic scientific claims? I think they should be researched thoroughly. To do that claims and counter claims need to be made. Without being made fun of.

Muslims elite exploited him or not. I am great full to him for Pakistan.
We dont have to live under extremist hindus.they cannot dictate us what to eat or what to not.hindus cannot force us for ghar wapsi like crap.they cannot threat us that they finish or
convert us after some years.we dont like indian muslims have to worship idols and take part in hindu rituals to prove our loyalty for the india.even our country is not rich as india but i still thanks Allah for Pakistan.
And thank Quid e Azam Mohammod Ali Jinah.

Naa. Practically everyone today says the theory has to be dumped. Show me one serious historian today who believes in Aryan Invasion Theory?
Tell me one thing. What would any chacha brigade or x brigade get out of supporting AIT? What would be their motive and profit?

Lol. What are you comparing that with? Vedic scientific claims? I think they should be researched thoroughly. To do that claims and counter claims need to be made. Without being made fun of.
Sure. With some Sanskrit scholars who can make sense of it. My impression is that enough effort was already made in this area. There are translation of Vedas into English making them accessible for scientists. And there must some scientist who would have read them and found something useful and scientific in there if ever. We did find somethings in medicine. But then we don't know why something(like a herb or treatment) works in most cases. Which would be a good research.

But talking about engineering in our mythology is prima facie ridiculous. Engineering wise Vedas/mythology wise are already milked well and people found nothing spectacular. The Angrez would have already sucked up the books and used anything they found in the books.

Rereading them is harmless. But starting out saying we did this and that in Treta-Yuga(Pushpak Vimana?!! :hitwall:) when world was barbarians is just making India a laughing stock. Do research, if something is found, then claim credit. Otherwise quietly fund whatever you want. From a scientific point of view, even if there were a chance of Pushpak Vimana really engineered in those days and there is no way to replicate it today, then it is pointless. Occam's Razor shaves it off. You got nothing.

Until something sensible is found, it should not be called a scientific search but a literary review.

Lol. What are you comparing that with? Vedic scientific claims? I think they should be researched thoroughly. To do that claims and counter claims need to be made. Without being made fun of.
At this point, flat earthers have as much scientific ground as Vedic claimants do. And I like making fun of flat-earthers.

What do you think? :) @Srinivas or @Roybot can elaborate on that.

Your impression. Okay. Name 5 ancient scientists from Bharat without searching in Google or any other search engine. :D

But talking about engineering in our mythology is prima facie ridiculous. Engineering wise Vedas/mythology wise are already milked well and people found nothing spectacular.
I see. Which people did research on engineering in Vedas/mythology? Cite me some papers please. I would love to read them in December.

You got nothing.
Then why worry? Grab popcorn and watch the show. You may write a complaint to Mr.Dina Nath Batra with your concerns. He is a good gentleman. He will grant you audience.

And thank Quid e Azam Mohammod Ali Jinah.
I thank him too. Thank you Jinnah.

Ok ... just out of curiosity I Googled for a few papers on 'Vedic engineering'. This is what I got from the first page.

All scientific papers.
