‘Pak intelligence agents abduct BBC journalist’

Islamabad: A British Broadcasting Corporation journalist went missing on Monday after visiting the Pakistani capital, the BBC said, and his brother feared intelligence agents may have kidnapped him.
Dilawar Khan Wazir, a reporter in his 30s for the BBC’s Urdu-language service, went missing after leaving Islamabad for Dera Ismail Khan, the city where he lived, in the North West Frontier Province bordering Afghanistan, the BBC said on its Urdu-language news website.
It was not immediately clear what may have happened to Wazir, whose 15-year-old brother was kidnapped and shot dead in August in northwestern Pakistan’s tribal areas.
Numerous Pakistan journalists have also vanished and been killed after apparently covering topics sensitive to the government and pro-Taliban militants.
Another of Wazir’s brothers, Zulfikar Ali, said the journalist had been with him at his university hostel in Islamabad on Monday before leaving to Dera Ismail Khan.
Sometime later, a man identifying himself as a doctor from the state-run Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences telephoned Ali claiming Wazir had been injured in an accident and asked him to go to the hospital, BBC reported.
Men in two jeeps later arrived at the hostel asking for Ali to come to the hospital, he said.
Wary of the men, the brother sent a friend to talk with them, who claimed they appeared to be undercover agents. A BBC correspondent visited the hospital but Wazir was not there, said Mohammed Hanif, Londonbased head of the broadcaster’s Urdu section. AP

Kashif, please post the link as well. Secondly, even the BBC has not 'named' anyone or even talked about their correspondent being 'abducted'. This sensational claim by this media outlet must really be selling their newspapers or having exaggerated hits on their website!

" His disappearance prompted the BBC to write to the Pakistan government, which said it could not confirm whether he was in their custody."

"Pakistan's record on press safety is poor and Mr Khan has received threats in the past."

- BBC NEWS

As you can see its not a figment of imagination of Indian Media.

As far as I know, even the BBC has not outrightly pointed the finger at Pakistani intelligence agencies but I guess the Indian press are only too trigger happy and are quick to start pointing fingers before even establishing what really transpired. Kudos to yellow journalism.

Next thing you'll hear that there's a 'clinching evidence' of ISI involvement. ;)

Hmm it seems that journalists seem to be fair game these days.......

The Russian reporter who was murdered recently (the recent poisoning scandal was linked to her murder)

The many independant journalists killed in Iraq pus attacks on the Al Jezeera offices....

and many many more.....

This guy was lucky.........

.
Allegations have to be proven.

The victim himself does not allege that ISI were his captors.
