China is still not on the defence. There is no "tough talks" by Obama and there will never be. China is America's biggest creditor and Obama knows that.

The US' biggest creditor is by far the US.

I guess every president has to be the person as their time calls for. President Hu couldn't have acted like president Xi. China's leaderships are the products of their time as dialectics would require.

The cyber hacking allegations against China are to put pressure on China. After the Snowden revelations, China was on the attack and the US was always playing defence. The US needed to make up something to go on the attack and put China on the defensive. China was going to kick out US tech firms out of China so the US came up with a bogus story and threatened to sanction China which will make China not kick out those US tech firms.

Just few days before President's visit, the news about a US person to be held on account of spying in China came about. So spying allegations are two way street and has little influence on Beijing.

Xi is sure to remind Obama of his country's widespread spying and hacking.

Well its not easy ruling the world(plus also attending to your own country's internal issues at the same time) Anybody holding that seat will age quite quickly to be honest. Its normal.Being the worlds most powerful man ain't no easy job.

You have to consider the East Asian philosophy of showing 快樂的臉. The English contextual equivalent would be "poker face", never show your true emotions, and hide with a smile. Obama, on the other hand, is being naive and showing it openly.
