The China-Russia natural gas deal won't be completed until 2018 or 2019. All of the Sino-Russian projects will take a few years to kick in. In the meantime, China is loaning tens of billions of dollars to Russia.

The cyber hacking allegations against China are to put pressure on China. After the Snowden revelations, China was on the attack and the US was always playing defence. The US needed to make up something to go on the attack and put China on the defensive. China was going to kick out US tech firms out of China so the US came up with a bogus story and threatened to sanction China which will make China not kick out those US tech firms.

The US needed to make up something to go on the attack and put China on the defensive. China was going to kick out US tech firms out of China so the US came up with a bogus story and threatened to sanction China which will make China not kick out those US tech firms.

China is still not on the defence. There is no "tough talks" by Obama and there will never be. China is America's biggest creditor and Obama knows that.
