Around 89% of temporary displaced persons (TDPs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have returned and 93% of FATA’s area has been de-notified, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

This was disclosed at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Apex Committee meeting held in Peshawar on Monday. The forum, which was attended by all civilian and military members including Governor, KP Chief Minister and Commander Peshawar Corps, acknowledged the tremendous work done by all concerned in rehabilitation of TDPs.

The forum reviewed the security situation in the province and the progress of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad. Participants appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Army, intelligence and law enforcement agencies and pledged that concerted joint efforts will continue to energise National Action Plan. The members also vowed to eradicate the root causes of terrorism and militancy.

The forum Issues including the presence of Afghan refugees and matters relating to improved border management were also discussed. Alongside, participants discussed measures to facilitate process for main streaming of FATA.

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa attended the meeting as a special participant.

Brilliant Job by our army and civilian government.. Well done!!

Some of them will have to return to the rubbles, I know army's resources have been stretched out for reconstruction and building up the infrastructure in the area - but are there any Government plans for this?

Is there also a website we could donate for them?

This is a difficult fight where the enemy hides among civilians. But good job. These people have a huge responsibility on their shoulders to make the area secure, safe and well managed while curbing crime, kidnapping, extortion and terrorism. The region being backward is a reason some of the families do not want to go back. In short those in FATA who can are moving out in droves. But someone has to improve things back at home too. Its a very difficult process. Hope army can improve things and provide education and healthcare by taking the local people of FATA into confidence.
