8 BSF suspended 4 video release-show torture of BD man for not paying bribe

I don't understand why the BSF personnel let the cow smuggler go to Bangladesh alive????? Why BSF did not shoot those smugglers at the first place when they cross international border illegally to smuggle cow?????

That's better than the torture they had to endure. No living man, murderers included, deserves to be tortured like this. Quick death is always a better option.

Why does the BD Govt and the BGB enforce strict rules to prevent the smuggling from their side so that it will save us all from a lot of grief and still lot more bandwidth ?

There is a definite need for exemplary punishment to those involved.

Moreover, this brings to light the poor leadership, control , training & procedures within the Para Military Forces. They are poorly led , men at far flung posts do not obviously have any fear for the law or their officers.

I was ashamed to see the video clips on TV last eve.
Thanks Indian Govt. to punish these culprits .

if bangladesh was pakistan it wont be like this today.i hope bangladesh people wake up to the agression and standup to india.like pakistan bangladesh got 180 million people u got resources u got army if pakistan can standup to india then y cant bangladesh?
Seeing BSF's brutality and tied up hands of ours, my father had lamented that EPR used to keep those cow-pee drinking unprofessionals at least a mile away from Akhaura, Hilly, Thakurgaon and Noagaon borders. Gone were the days that EPR-BDR to be raplaced with finger chewing BGBs. Curse on all the dalal sardars/sardarnis, who had made us 3rd class orphans in the league of nation states.

Ignoring some of the loud-mouthed jobless keyboard warriors here, I understand that there are issues on the BD-Indo border. Bangladeshis generally do want to live securely, but I do not think that the current Government of Bangladesh is going to look much into the matter.

See, the thing is that the BGB (previously known as BDR) is not exactly as effective as it used to be in the old days. Notice back in the old days, we didn't really hear about such incidents. This especially after Pilkhana.

Now, as far as a BSF is concerned, I believe they do have issues as well. Some Indian keyboard warriors here say the force is perfect. They are so rich and pure that they will never ask for bribes.

There isn't much point in blaming everything on Bangladeshis. The current leadership has little or no touch with the people, let alone reality. And I feel that this Hasina is trying to cover something up within the BGB in relation to the Pilkhana tragedy. It appears some guys are trying hard to cover their tracks. The woman has been living in a bubble for the past 40+ years.

Here's a very recent report about the issues affecting BSF:
BSF jawans sleep for 4 hrs, face abuse from bosses: Study

Now here's the problem. Even given that the current GoB is pro-India, and that the current relations are theoretically good between the two nations, no one on either side is actually looking into the matter. Both internally and externally. It's like as if it doesn't matter.

It is odd. India does vie for influence in the region (challenging Chinese influence). How on earth are they going to achieve anything through the Awami League when it comes to Bangladesh is just beyond me. A failure of epic proportions.

It's regrettable, because incidents like this, regardless of who's at fault here, further undermine Indo-BD relation.

The fault is with both BSF and BGB. Let's not get too nationalistic here. We know both these organizations take bribe. Anyone denying this fact is an idiot. I think that's how the smuggler got there in the first place.

Smuggling organizations have three tiers of personnel. The guys who get caught are in the lowest rung and they don't profit much anyway. The two upper tiers, the godfathers and the guys who liaison between border officials and the godfathers, are hard to catch because they leave no trail. If the masterminds and the corrupt officers can be caught, only then we can solve this problem (or, more realistically, get ever closer to enforcing the rule of law).

^It's pointless to blame BSF and BGB alone. It is the governments as well as high level army officers that are to blame. That is, the ones who have decision-making power.

What I find amazing is that India is spending billions of $$$ on high tech equipment, but they still cannot manage the BSF properly despite all the fanboyish claims for them being good at their jobs.

They need the proper incentives to do their jobs, such they are not attracted to illegal means of human/drug trafficking and smuggling. The same applies to BGB, minus Bangladesh's defense procurement (which are like flea compared to India's).

Lastly, I believe the issue complements with the disputed enclaves. Bangladesh should get a fair share of that land in the end.

Keeping such issue pending does not help in anything at all.

How is the government to blame when they actually suspended concerned BSF troopers? Do I blame Bangladesh Govt for what idiots like Sami vomit here? Do Bangladeshis ever make sense?

And does that solve everything relating to the issue? Read my post again, mine is from a holistic point of view. Not a bunch of guys in an outpost getting suspended.

Why reply to Sami if he bothers you? Now that doesn't make any sense at all in regards to the actual issue at hand. In the end it is the usual point-scoring that keyboard warriors are proficient at

Frankly they should have either shot them as per the rules of the force there or apprehended them, torture is not justified.

The sooner the exchange of enclaves the better it will be to manage.
