7th Chinese naval escort taskforce in night live-firing drill
A live-firing drill staged by the special operation force of the Zhoushan warship and the Qiandaohu warship of the 7th Chinese naval escort taskforce under the Navy of the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army kicked off late at night of January 10, 2011 in the Gulf of Aden.
"Its the first time for the Chinese naval escort taskforce to organize special operation force to conduct a live-firing drill in late-night since its operation of escort mission two years ago," said Wang Haifeng, commander of a naval special force group, "At present, pirates in the Gulf of Aden and the waters off the Somali coast usually take action in night, dawn and dusk hours.
As an assault force of the Chinese naval escort taskforce, the special operation force must master the combat skills of defeating the enemy at night. "
