This seems a completely half-assed operation so far by the militants.

What do they hope to gain by taking over a hospital?

Were they hoping for a far greater number of hostages? That would be plausible, and given the sketchy reporting so far, there is a strong possibility the number of hostages might go up.

Without a large number of hostages, or at least hostages of any import, this op. makes no sense ... The militants have shown no qualms about using suicide bombings to devastating effect.

:) Agno jee CDMD is not a hospital .

Its City Development and Municipal Department (CDMD).

And the militants indeed had stuck their donka at the wrong place.

They can only burn the land approval record there nothing else.

I guess they enterd the building while fleeing from the area between Bara-Peshawar boundry as the law enfrocers have tigned the noose arround the militants.

PESHAWAR: Militants have taken over a hospital in the Regi Lalma area on the outskirts of Peshawar. They have also captured a telephone exchange located on the hospital premises, according to initial reports from Dawn News.

Six to seven hospital staff members have been taken hostage and an exchange of gun fire between militants and security forces has also been reported. Police and Frontier Corp personnel are reportedly at the scene.

But since you are on the scene (or in the locality at least) I'll go by what you say.

Either way, it doesn't seem to make much sense for the militants to do this.

Kill these bashtards, every single of them! :sniper:
Don't give them a islamic burial, they don't deserve that, let them rot in the mountains.

or call our boys.. SSGs?

Apparently Jirga was involved -- Mangal Bagh's men reportedly.

I see Bagh becoming a major issue soon...
