A new group of 22 members from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa led by Defense Minister Pervez Khattak emerged at a meeting of the parliamentary party chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The new group, led by Pervez Khattak, had refused to attend the parliamentary party meeting, at which Prime Minister Imran Khan summoned the new group to his chambers and assured them of resolving their demands.
The Prime Minister also summoned Asad Umar, Hamad Azhar, Umar Ayub and Amir Dogar on the demands of the group and assured immediate solution to the demands of the KP group, after assurance the group participated in the meeting.
Other members of the ruling parliamentary party were also not interested in the meeting and 70 members were absent. Members of the parliamentary party complained about development funds and gas schemes. To which Federal Minister Hamad Azhar, while giving a clear answer to the members not to give gas schemes, said that we do not have any gas, we are already giving gas on subsidy, on which Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema asked the Prime Minister whether he is representative of The Ministry of Energy or representative of the government?
Tariq Bashir Cheema said that if this situation continues then the guarantees of all the members sitting in front of him will be confiscated in next election.
On the other hand, members of the National Assembly in Karachi also complained about not being taken into confidence in organizational matters. MNA Aftab Jahangir said that we have been told that next time there will be another party candidate instead of you, if this is true then we should be informed in time so that we can make our own arrangements.
The party meeting was aimed to devise a strategy that how avoid embarrassment the government facing every day as it is not able to bring MNAs in parliament as a result quorum (the minimum number of members of National assembly that must be present at any of its meetings to make the proceedings of that meeting valid) is not being completed for the for all 10 days of this Parliamentary Year.
