6th September Pakistan Defence Day history
The heroic defence of Pakistan’s armed forces is commemorated as the Defence Day. 6th September is a public holiday, which is celebrated as the national day as Pakistan’s armed forces bid to defence after India attacked worked and on this day ceasefire between both the countries was marked.
This conflict is known as 1965 war or Second Kashmir War and it took place after Operation Gibraltar. 1965 war caused casualties on both sides and lasted for around 5-weeks, though Pakistan’s strong defence thumped Indian motives.
Pakistani ’empowered’ with patriotism and courage tackled Indian attacks, realising them; to mess with Pakistan is not a piece of cake.
The day is celebrated to commemorate the sacrifices of Pakistan armed forces and of the the civilians. Pakistan Air force with their utmost brilliance played pivotal role in upholding Pakistan at the time of war.
Celebrations all across the country:
Special Nawafil and prayers were offered after Fajar prayers in remembrance of martyrs and for future prosperity of the nation.
Different functions were held throughout the country, most importantly fly-past March by PAF was held at F-9 Park in Islamabad and other central most event was held at General Headquarter (GHQ).
