59 more Baloch insurgents surrender to govt

QUETTA: Another two commanders of outlawed Baloch insurgent groups and 57 more fighters laid down their arms and renounced violence on Sunday.

The commanders – Din Jan alias Meeran of the Balochistan Liberation Front and Ubaidullah alias Beebarg of the Tazeem Lashkar-e-Balochistan – as well as fighters loyal to them handed over their arms to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Nawab Sanaullah Zehri at a ceremony in Khuzdar.

Both commanders chanted slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Balochistan Paindabad’, and vowed to join the political mainstream. They were also presented with shawls emblazoned with the Pakistani flag.

They have realized what is right & what is wrong. Breaking India in Afghanistan, who are openly funding rented terrorists in the province will fix a lot of problems in the province. But still BLA & BRA who are a complete rented terrorist groups filled with foreign elements needs to eliminated for good.

What was happening in Balochistan was a full blown insurgency.Freedom movements are something else.They are backed by an ideology and intellectual reasoning.They have a vision in shape of educated leaders.They have a great deal of transparency.They have a post freedom road map to prosperity,they are backed by the masses in great numbers and they have an international recognition.
Examples of such movements are the Pakistan movement,the current Kashmir movement,the Palestinian struggle etc.

It would be wrong to classify all people with leftist ideas in the same group as Asma Jahangir and her lot.
I'm a liberal too, but I feel happy that our estranged Baloch brothers have finally realized the wrong of their ways and decided to live peacefully.

More than 100 Baluch militants surrender in Pakistan


"These people were in fact misled by the anti-state elements who are being funded by foreign spy agencies," said Sanaullah Zehri, senior minister in Baluchistan.

Over a hundred Baluch militants fighting against Pakistani forces in the separatist-insurgency wracked southwestern Baluchistan province have surrendered and pledged their allegiance to the country, officials said.

A group of 59 militants including two key commanders appeared before the media, along with senior politicians and government officials from the province, to announce they would end militant activities and become a "useful part" of society.

They followed a group of 47 militants yesterday. All were given amnesty by the government.


"These people were in fact misled by the anti-state elements who are being funded by foreign spy agencies," said Sanaullah Zehri, senior minister in Baluchistan.

"They have now pledged to lead a good life as true Pakistanis," he said.

The militants who surrendered were from groups such as Baluch Republican Army (BRA), Baluch National Movement (BNM), and Lashkare-e-Baluchistan (Army of Baluchistan).

"We were trapped by our leaders who said they are fighting for the rights of Baluchs, but later we realised that they were enjoying their lives abroad and had pushed us and our families to a war here," Obaidullah alias Babrak, a Lashkar-e-Baluchistan commander, told reporters.

Baluch separatists demanding more autonomy and control over gas and mineral resources have frequently targeted security forces and police for years.

Pakistan's largest province -- which borders Iran and Afghanistan -- is also riven by sectarian strife and Islamist violence.

Its roughly seven million inhabitants have long complained they do not receive a fair share of its gas and mineral wealth.
