54 percent Pakistanis think a woman can be head of state

ISLAMABAD - According to a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 54 percent Pakistanis think that a woman can be the head of state.

A nationally representative sample of men and women across the four provinces was asked the question: ‘Some people are of the opinion that a woman cannot be the head of state, while some people say if the woman is qualified and popular then she can be head of state. What is your opinion on this?’
Responding to this, 54 percent said that a woman could be the head of state and 38 percent said that a woman could not be the head of state, while 8 percent did not respond.
