What's new

50 Billion For less than 300 Fighters ??

Seriously ??? Do you even read my first post ???
Exactly this was the report I was talking about.

Anyways you are free to believe what you want till the contact between India and Russia is signed in next few months.
ok contract will clear all things...
No one puts development cost just for 144 fighters.
maybe yes..may be not...
but the current plan is 144..
+ we will get many know how ..which we will use in AMCA....

The problem is that even after all these years, India hasn't signed anything yet.

What's the point of all this waiting around, surely it doesn't take so many years to make a decision.

And the longer you wait, the more the costs spiral out of control.

Current plan is actually nothing but 200+. You can not fix a number without even knowing the true cost and capability.

Right now its estimation and projection and if we are putting 6 billion in R&D, be sure we wont do that for 144. Yes we can argue that this is indirectly funding the AMCA R&D but to be honest AMCA is not that sure to put money forefront.

Idrw again at its best :tup:

Somebody forget that those 300 planes will be equal to the 700/800 in the performance of 21s n 27s.

And also forget to count LCAs. Good job :woot:

Not a fake new just the analysis is BS.
FGFA = 30 b$
Rafael = 19/20 b$

So according to you 300 = 800 and we will have 272 MKI so we need only 28 more Hurray :yahoo::yahoo:. wait a minute what about 42 squadrons Sanctioned Strength of Indian air force :o: , will it be filled with Imaginary Fighters :hitwall:.

Current Generation of aircrafts are force multipliers , which means they don't have to carry higher level of sorties like it predecessors but Number are still required .

the price will always go up. Now its $50b, in 10 years, it will be $150B. Lets see how high it will go.

Its 100+ Jaguars and 123 Hawks which can carry 3000 kg of bombs (as much as Thunder).

45 Mig 29K of IN too.

Some One needs to ask Shiv Aroor , not to use Wiki for His rants
I can write Better Article than this Jack ***
We dont Have 250 Mig 21 IN SERVICE, we had that many in 2007, at present We have 121 Mig 21 Bisons in active service , rest being phased out
Our Fleet of Mig 27 is around 90, out of which around 30-40 are upgraded
If Indian Airforce had 250 Mig21 and 120 Mig 27, then Our fleet strength would have been 800 fighters instead of 650+
Though we do have around 150 Mig 21/23/27 in reserve fleet
We have 140+ Jaguars and IAF plans to keep 120 aircraft flying till yr 2026 and 67 Jaguars will remain in service even beyond yr 2030
He also completely ignored the 72 Su30 MKI and 123 LCA MK1/2 that we will induct apart from 126 Rafales and 144 FGFA

FGFA will only start coming in 2022-23 and the first 100 FGFA will just end up replacing 60+ Mig 29smt and 50 odd Jaguars that will be retired between 2026-30
So we are not looking at a fleet of more than 700 Fighters spread across 37 sqds
, that too in 2030

India would need at least 126 Rafales and 144 PAK-FA to counter 150 JF-17, 400 J-10B, 200 J-20.
