I supported Imran Khan but I know realize that Imran Khan is incompetent. Imran Khan government neither has a plan nor policy to decisively take against spread of Coronavirus in Pakistan. This gathering must have been canceled and banned few weeks or days ago but nothing has been done. Only when there is a major crisis Imran Khan will get up and taken action now he is busy watching the Cricket match.

Lahore: Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims gathered in eastern Pakistan this week amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, ignoring government warnings that such events could propagate the disease.

Organisers late on Thursday curtailed the annual Tablighi Ijtema congregation, which had drawn people from across the country, but cited rainy weather as the cause.

The early closure came after about 250,000 people had already congregated in camps near Lahore since Wednesday for the five day festival.

“Most of the people have returned to their homes but still tens of thousands of people are here. They will return today,” one of the event’s organisers Ehsanullah, said yesterday.

Pakistan has only recorded 21 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and no deaths, but officials have tested fewer than 500 potential cases in the country of about 215 million, where health care is frequently inadequate.

The federal government has yet to enforce nationwide measures to contain a possible outbreak, leaving provinces to act independently. Organisers of the Tablighi Ijtema were free to ignore government advice to postpone.

“The government asked us to cancel the gathering because of the coronavirus, but our elders and organisers decided that the gathering will proceed as planned,” Ehsanullah said.

Meanwhile, lawmakers from the government and opposition parties in the National Assembly yesterday demanded the government to call joint session of the parliament to discuss steps at government level to control spread of Coronavirus epidemic.

Speaking on a point of order in the National Assembly, the former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said, “Joint session of Parliament should be summoned immediately to discuss the corona virus to take steps at government level for controlling its spread.”

What childish approach you have man. Not everything is for IK to check. Get a freaking life. Tableeghi jamaat is composed of jaahil ganwaar stupid people. the stinking morons. What do you expect.

I think tablighi Ijtema congregation is already over. They finished on the first day after request from Punjab government.

They should have avoided it in the first place but still, it's encouraging that they listened to the authorities to finish it early

Too late! Just wait for the test results to from in from DG Khan!

The attitude displayed by OP is one of the major problems with Pakistan. I am not blaming OP but society as a whole.

Why is the PM or govt at general responsible for micro-management of everything.

Is TJ void of all common sense and responsibility towards its members? Are its members void of all sense?

In the UK every single business and public body has created its own contingency plan ahead of government instructions. The general public has sought out information and prepared itself. Nobody waited for Boris Johnson to do something.

There is no such thing as incompetency. We have no worries about chrona virus we have already detained our kids in China. And that's a good thing. At that you have also called him incompetent but that decision proved to be right one.
Even people returning from iran are quarentined. Those who escape the quarentine are the real culprit. And spread this across the country.
Incompetency is the norm of men who sit on social media declaring big statements which are far above their own brain.

Thanks for sharing. This news is incomplete and I dislike how it brings out anti-religious and anti-PTI people, almost as if it is a knee jerk reaction.

For an Islamic state, we should respect our religious people, they are our strength.

Huge infection happen with the similar religious gathering in Malaysia. Stupid Malaysian leader doesnt even try to stop the gathering. Many Malaysian get infected and some Indonesian and Brunei.

Only Jumat prayer and 5 times jamaah prayer that should be allowed, other than that are not a religious obligation and should be banned.

I wonder if Imran is doing anything to produce more toilet papers in Pakistan. He is also responsible for checking every person entering Pakistani borders, how dare he let 6000 Ziareen coming from Iran run away without testing as we all know he is a good athlete and he could have run after every single one of them catch'em and put'em in the isolation ward....Imran is incompetent.
oh before I forget....it is his responsibility to make sure every one washes their hands, must carry a big lotta all the time.

Government has done all it can. Awareness, Quarantine infected people, Free test kits, etc.

Now it up to the people to follow it. Government told the people to not gather, however you still have some Imams commanding people to gather. If the government starts rounding up these people, that will cause more problems, as then people will be stupid enough to come out on the road, and protest. That will cause more cases.
