5 Real Life Soldiers Who Make Rambo Look Like a *****

^^ this mentality of your will only lead you to pick on small or weaker armies- Just like amrika is doing- No moral no remorse-
where the term bravery suits into that logic?-

The brave amrikan soldiers dropping bombs from air- while the cowards are hiding in a cave-
that will win you the war maybe- but doesn't fill in the criteria of this thread for brave soldiers-

Bravery is taking each and every available opportunity and turning it into an asset to vanquish the foe. Period. Bravery doesnt come from the 'heart' alone, it flows down from the Brain where it actually originates. How can anyone ever call people with mindsets stuck in the medieval times, unwilling to evolve or progress, as Brave?

2. Yogendra Singh Yadav
Who Was He?

Yogendra Singh Yadav was a member of an Indian grenadier battalion during a conflict with Pakistan in 1999. Their mission was to climb "Tiger Hill" (actually a big-*** mountain), and neutralize the three enemy bunkers at the top. Unfortunately, this meant climbing up a sheer hundred-foot cliff-face of solid ice. Since they didn't want to all climb up one at a time with ice-axes, they decided they'd send one guy up, and he'd fasten the ropes to the cliff as he went, so everyone else could climb up the sissy way. Yadav, being awesome, volunteered.

Half way up the icy cliff-o'-doom, enemies stationed on an adjacent mountain opened fire, shooting them with an RPG, then spraying assault-rifle fire all over the cliff. Half his squad was killed, including the commander, and the rest were scattered and disorganized. Yadav, in spite of being shot three times, kept climbing.
When he reached the top, one of the target bunkers opened fire on him with machine guns. Yadav ran toward the hail of bullets, pitched a grenade in the window and killed everyone inside. By this point the second bunker had a clear shot and opened fire, so he ran at them, taking bullets while he did, and killed the four heavily-armed men inside with his bare hands.

Meanwhile, the remainder of his squad was standing at the top of the cliff staring at him saying, "dude, holy ****!" They then all went and took the third bunker with little trouble.

For his gallantry and sheer ballsiness, he was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military award. Unlike the Medal of Honor, the Param Vir Chakra is only given for "rarest of the rare gallantry which is beyond the call of duty and which in normal life is considered impossible to do." That's right, you actually have to break the laws of reality just to be eligible.

And we imagine the medal looks like two, brass testicles.

It has only been awarded 21 times, and two thirds of the people who earned it died in the process. It was initially reported that Yadav had as well, but it turns out that they just mistook him for someone less badass. Or they just figured no real human being could survive a broken leg, shattered arm and 10-15 fresh bullet holes in one sitting.

Bollywood Film Lakshya was based on the Yogendra Singh Yadav battle field action on the Tiger Hill.

Its lead character played by Hritik Roshan captures Tiger Hill in a similar manner what Yogendra Singh Yadav did during the kargilwar.

There is a thin line b/n bravery and stupidity..and by the looks of it you are promoting stupidity.

That your miinterpretation of my post-
The Amrikan and Taliban example was to be taken as a mock-

No where i called Taliban Brave- nope they deserve to be in this thread-

Bravery comes from heart-
A teenager sitting behind a machine gun killing dozens doesn't classify as Bravery-

Mind Blown, shows how crappy and lame the guys in the bunkers were :P i mean what the hell? Dont they even get some training in the PA, what do they do; Show you a picture of a gun and send you out to fight?

ALthought I do respect those shaheeds but still, disappointed, that is sub humanly weak.

It's called propaganda my friend. All the true heroes either died in the wars after they have made all the sacrifices that a man can sacrifice or we never hear about them. Most of these over hyped people and I guarantee you are made for morale boost and to have a "Role Model" in the hearts of the soldiers. For instance someone here pointed out Mr.Zaitsev who also were a role model figure for the soviet soldiers in Stalingrad. And this is not something new. I may guess the first one to have the honor of being the Moral role model booster is Hercules which I think shows great understanding of Psychology in Ancient Greece. Or perhaps the Shu kingdom warriors who history inflated to no end. Japanese Oda Nobunaga also used this tactic through Maeda Toshiie.

Snipers are lame-

I dont like them-
Sitting on their fat a55es-- some where far and safe- and shooting- nothing impressive-

with your analysis even artillery units are coward sitting on their a$$ some 20km away safe and shooting
anyone who is ready to sacrifice their day to day life and fight for their country weather its infantry, or a sniper or artillery operator, is a soldier (not coward). a coward is someone who judges their skills

I have seen the kargil terrain. Anybody who thought of climbing( rather crawling) the mountain in freezing temperature is brave.
The slope is more than 45 degree in some places, it is like a game of rock climbing and dodging enemy fire, in the hope that the bofors guns below you will kill some of your enemies above, while you will finish the rest( if you did not die).

All the while you will be breathing heavy for oxygen that you need to climb, which is in short supply in kargil.

Vasily Zaitsev, Simo Hayha, those are impressive to me.

Or those who defended the location with himself only against several hundred enemy soldiers and etc.

During Korean war, there are lots of Chinese soldiers who have done way more brave deeds against U.S. and U.N. force there.

If that 2nd one could have been called impressive or marked as great, those mentioned above could have been called beyond great.

What is according to u is impressive???
This guy disabled 2 bunkers by himself, while taking bullets!!!
So according to u, impressive is taking a bazooka and still fighting???
Surely its ur hate flowing through here !!!

So he shot down two enemy aircraft before he was shot down by other enemy aircraft. From what is written there, it seems that the enemy then did not have many aircrafts either.

You can say his behavior was brave. However, unbelievable??? During wars, there are tons of such stories.

I would like to add:

Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Unbelievable story.

And that I completely the wrong pic of the Param Vir Chakra, this is:

Now I hope you understand what those poorly dressed Chinese soldiers did in 1962 was beyond great and way more impressive than a lot of stuff cited here.

I think the story of Indian soldier Yadav is false (50%) because after being injured by bullets he could not have killed 4 enemy soldiers with his bare hands.

Chinese soldiers bravery? Chinese soldiers outnumbered nearly every time in Korea, they had more than one million soldiers and Korea is just next door to Korea.

The Chinese was anhiliated by the Turkish brigade in Korea. The Chinese outnumbered us by like 4 to 1 yet they couldn't do much calling for additional support.
