I would like to start off by pointing out what President Obama has disclosed at the recent U.N. Security Council Summit on Foreign Terrorist Fighters: “Our intelligence agencies estimate that more than 15,000 foreign fighters from more than 80 nations have traveled to Syria in recent years. Many have joined terrorist organizations such as al Qaeda’s affiliate, the Nusrah Front, and ISIL, which now threatens people across Syria and Iraq.”
I hope this will give you a clearer picture of the complexity and magnitude of the issue. Starting threads with titles such as Obama’s terrorists, is misleading and nothing more than a negative propaganda piece. We are supporting moderate Syrian opposition in their fight against the ruthless terrorist organization ISIL.
I would also like to point out to you that you are referencing a state-run news agency that works for Asad’s regime. If you haven’t noticed, suicide attacks and bombings on civilians have been condemned by the United States on several occasions.
As to the question of religion, as we have previously stated on several occasions - terrorists and terrorism knows no religion. President Obama during his speech, in regards to the brutal murder of Journalist Jim Foley, stated that, “ISIL speaks for no religion. Their victims are overwhelmingly Muslim, and no faith teaches people to massacre innocents. No just God would stand for what they did yesterday, and for what they do every single day. ISIL has no ideology of any value to human beings. Their ideology is bankrupt. They may claim out of expediency that they are at war with the United States or the West, but the fact is they terrorize their neighbors and offer them nothing but an endless slavery to their empty vision, and the collapse of any definition of civilized behavior.”
