4 military personnel martyred during operation on militant hideout in North Waziristan: ISPR

A lieutenant, two sepoys and a lance havaldar were martyred while seven terrorists were killed in an operation on a militant hideout near Datta Khel, North Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

Those martyred include 26-year-old Lt Agha Muqadas Ali Khan, 36-year-old Lance Havaldar Qamar Nadeem, 24-year-old Sepoy Muhammad Qasim and 23-year-old Sepoy Touseef.

According to the military's media wing, security forces had conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Mama Ziarat after receiving confirmed reports of a militant hideout in the area. An exchange of fire took place between the troops, who had cordoned the area, and the terrorists, who were trying to escape.

One soldier was also injured, ISPR said in its statement.

life of a soldier in pakistan has become very cheap. the news of their shahadat are getting a routine and people take such news as a routine matter. even by looking at the response of the members here at pdf i am ashamed. they wrote pages about the shahadat of an f-16 pilot and what is our response over the shahadat of these 4 sons of soil who have given their lives so that we can live safely here. they were in lot tougher situation. facing bullets and firing bullets under the circumstances which none of us can even imagine is really tough situation. these 4 have achieved the ultimate glory but the indifference of our nation towards them is shameful.

What is pissing me off is the Incompetent Army brass for not using drones. I guess drones are more valuable then solders lives as we have plenty of people in our country.

yes i am pissed, drones should always be scouting before infantry guys go in.. then on top there ahould be IFV for strong armor in case light arm jeeps come under fire... so pissed ..

They died in a firefight. Drones and IFV may not be of any use when enemy is 50 yards from you. Throw a damn grenade to clear every hole.

PA needs to learn squad level and high risk small unit tactics and maneuvers from US Army and marines .

wrong, i learned that they were ambushed from a higher ground.. with IFVs going through to a certain target, the armor is there.

and to your point of close combat, if they had reached their target without ambush then they had the element of surprise with them, wouldve pounded them with heavy weapons, not the losses we are seeing

it was an ambush, and loss couldve avoided with IFVs

I haven’t came across any such ambush news. It’s an IBO, how the hell, they ran into an ambush?

Stop apologizing and stop creating hypothetical scenarios for incompetency. You seen the drone footage they are precise, the warhead used is also not large. Recent Turkish drone strikes should give you good idea.
Also, not only drones they could have used other methods but i don't know why the army planners are not considerate of this fact, may be material things gets more importance over human lives.
