3G Internet Data Service in Pakistan?

And thank you for coming back and taking charge of our country the only way it is possible and not trying to "miss" your country from abroad. We need a lot less thread starters about what Pakistan needs to do while they try to sort out their lives in another country.

did i ask you about analysing my beliefs and what is miss or not, i shared my opinions! free to talk and open to share my opinion in democracy. period.

as far as starting a thread is concerned, please bugger off if your suggesting that i shouldnt be allowed to start a thread, stop victimising, grow up pakistani and face the fact that other people have the right to speak aswell

So you would rather have me not air my opinions in your democratic environment? Sounds fair. Goodluck.

Maybe it would do you some good to revisit what I wrote and it was a genuine gratitude to your previous post rather than asking you to not post.

Its hit some red tape but the good news is that most cell providers have already upgraded to 3G standards or are in the process of upgrading. As soon as the bidding is done it will be provided with very little downtime.

Bichari ki bijli chali gey ti.

Welcome to real Pakistan little lady. :D

As my University Professor once said to me about a crappy test score.

Write a letter to Ganja Sharif and Ganja bro. Get a petition started by students in Islamabad. Turn it into a facebook phenomena of students from all over the country.

Fight for your rights.

Otherwise, use a proxy. :D
Sage advice!

it has been now a year since i moved back from england, but no luck so far with mobile connectivity. i am using telenor and edge internet is ****.

i have been reading 3G news and koi kuch bolta hai koi kuch :///

Any news when exactly 3G would be available to use so our life improves.

plus...

any clue on unblocking youtube. proxy and diff apps say tou chalta hai

but i want to use it the legal right way and from official youtube app.

why is it still block?
is this what you call democracy jahan per koi right na ho apni marzi say cheez dekhnay/kernay ka?

Yes pornography is also banned....

Pakistan has no 3G for cell phones. However, 3G devices are available from operators and WiMax devices are also popular (but these are only for PCs). WiMax is a router without any internet cables and can be used by any device with wifi capabilities.

And Pakistan also has comparatively low rates per MB than other countries, but these are limited to GPRS and EDGE (Telenor). Mobile internet was an affordable option for many people, but the recent raise in recharge and usage taxes is throttling this as well.

When I was in Pakistan, I used Ufone's 100MB daily package. 24hrs validity and 100MB was enough.

In some instances, it is banned. But most of the stuf is available and unrestricted. Kids nowadays use mobile internet packages to watch that stuff.

OP missed the whole point I think.

my dear, if you have the right to express your opinion than so does he, you can analysis and give your opinion on anyone's post, no ones going to stop you from doing that.

coming back to your topic than as many others have said, it has hit some red tape in the due process, thanks to our previous govt, but IT minister has said that the process will speed up for the license auction.
talking about Youtube, than why don't you be a leader and take charge, i suggest you give some thought to razpak's suggestion about filing a petition.

I thanked your post just because you came back from UK to live here in Pakistan, which mostly people don't do. You're a proud son of this soil...

I know how frustrating and shameful it is when you've a phone which is equipped with LTE/4G supported hardware but you can only use it over EDGE or GPRS with a snail like speed or only for receiving and sending mails... and our PM had the guts to ask the Telecom Giant Huawei to open research centre in Pakistan on his recent visit to China.

Well, the launching of 3G/LTE in Pakistan has always been a mystery. The monopoly of PTCL, the crooks in PTA and greediness of networks has what made 3G in Pakistan still a dream to come true. There was a time when Pakistan was a leading telecom example for the rest of the world but guess what, Afghanistan too have 3G for over a year now but Pakistan doesn't.

The best alternative for you at this time is to get a Qubee, WiTribe or PTCL's Evo... which can provide you with internet on the go... but you'd need your Laptop for that to do WiFi tethering etc. For instance, we may see 3G in Pakistan somewhere after 2015-16. I know it sucks but this is how it is in Pakistan.

Don't worry it will be there soon as government needs money earned by selling 3g licence.

there is Edge mobile internet service. which is far slower than 3g. give around 0.40 kb download speed lol...

i use Edge at the moment on my iphone 4s, and my phones curse me daily for that lol

i am asking for 3G to be introduced in this country. :((((

EDGE is giving you 0.4kb download? You live in a cave or what?

Hope there is no 3G scams as there are in india
