A frog that sings like a bird, a fish that can walk and a new bat named after its devilish appearance are among 36 newly discovered species in Vietnam in 2011 as described in a new WWF report compiling the work of scientists from numerous institutions worldwide.

They are listed in 126 new species - 82 plants, 13 fish, 21 reptiles, five amphibians and five mammals - which scientists have identified in the Greater Mekong region consisting of Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos and the southwestern Chinese province of Yunnan.

That catfish would be tasty deep fried with black bean sauce. If it's endangered, I'll pass.

I've had frog before, they were good. Not too sure, I'd be willing to eat snake though.

Vietnam has no major differences between seasons?

I watched a show on Nat Geo the other day, they said that evolution goes runs wild in areas where conditions are pretty much the same all year round. There could be more species hidden (most likely).

Yes, basically Vietnam has a tropical monsoon climate. The monsoon seasons dicate the life.

@PITA planet saturn lord of Karma.... He a nature king.... A king who brings natural disasters.... He hates people who eats nonveg specialy Beef, pork, Goat meat, Lamb meat, snakes.... He a serpent god and rules no.8. As u can see 4 7 8 are serpent numbers. 4 and 7 is dragons head and tail and 8 is snake curled up snake.... If a human keep eating nonveg than Saturn takes his life away by disease, earthquake, typhoon, tsunami and in accident.... After all there is a Law.... Law of universe. What goes around comes around.... Btw the bad karma depends on size of animal.... Fish is safe to eat as its less bad karma (if buyed from supermarket or fish market).... If u fishing than its a big bad karma. Majority of fishermans life is short. Most of them dies in sea.... Also people should avoid eating fish and chicken on every Tuesday, Thrusday and Saturdays as this days most powerful planets rules.... They are Mars, Jupiter and Saturn....

No worries, isro. I only eat meat 2 meals a week so I have about 1/10 the bad karma most people around here have.

Cheers to you.

Hopefully, Saturn will be merciful to us beer drinkers.

@PITA a human was created such a way that everything which is bad karma always brings negative to us.... Alcohol changes DNA in a bad way.... While Mantras changes DNA in a good way.... Everything proved by Scientists.... Evil age will end. In evil age people did everything that was bad karma.... But in golden age people will do good karma.... And if human dont change than in golden age that person will perish by disease and natural disasters.... Must visit this all links. Its by Scientists....

Snakes are not too bad I had snakes in Arizona, they taste pretty good if you fry them or BBQ them.

isro2222,

Going WAY off-topic but you're right. Diet does have an epigenetic effect even in adults. That in turn gets passed to offspring.

So remember, kids, Lutherburgers and JD isn't a good choice for breakfast.

IndoUS,

Ya you can fry and BBQ pretty much any meat and it'll be good. Just curious, but what did it taste like?

.
Pls, they are all endangered species!
If you are hungry, go to McDonalds or somewhere else

Laufender Fisch (Clarias gracilentus): Dieser agile Wasserbewohner schlängelt und windet sich auch auf dem Trockenen und sucht sich so auch Nahrung an Land. Er lebt in strömungsarmen Gewässern.
