There were attempts to reconvert Hindus by peaceful means. There have been successes there. Not the ones you see on TV. They are done by orgs to get some fame. You won't hear their names frequently. Empty vessels sound much. Arya Samaj does it efficiently. You won't hear about them at all.
Even in Kashmir, our predecessors had converted to Islam in the 15th century and reconverted only during Gulab Singh's reign. Even then only a few did as many were/are not sure that his reign will remain or not and there were and are many people willing to prevent reconversion to parent faiths by force. Many of our extended families remain Muslim. But Kashmir's case is different. Conversions to Islam don't happen anymore in JnK state. They do in Kerala, Mangalore region of Karnataka, Hyderabad region, West Bengal and Tripura. Take a road trip from North to Central Kerala. You will see more Mosques than are there in all of Pakistan - all very beautiful and built in the past 15 years. It is a massive success.
What were these peaceful means and can these be used today ?
