3 ways for building up IAF fighter squadron

It'll look pretty good only by 2025-30. By which time I would be long dead and gone! :P

U dont sound like u r in 90's.
Thats what everybody said about this Rafale deal too, "I will be dead by the time this deal is finished".

I will die before I see them physically!!

Dude, u will start seeing them by 2023, so dont die yet.

What about 62 Mig 29 UPG ? :D

Not to mention the 45 Mig 29K of the Indian Navy.

You left out nearly 109 Aircraft's from our Inventory :disagree:

Mentioned above is only for IAF.

Any update on AURA? Even Iran has made a somewhat workable UCAV.

Its a BLACK PROJECT, u wont hear anything about it, until its ready for first flight. IMO, it will be around the same time as AMCA.

UCAV are the best reply to tactical nukes or other suicidal projects of the hostile neighbors. Hope it gets done soon . Can we use our Kaveri engine to power them? Just a tech question. Cause here it says we can. So the time taken maybe for the stealth feature/coating research ?

Kaveri project is now dead, they are working on a whole new engine, hopefully we reel in Russia, EADS or Snecma..
America has also offered us joint project based on GE 414 engine.

Ucav's will be mostly used for Recon missions, although they will be more than capable of delivering the GOODS beyond enemy lines.

OK, I will try to remain alive till 2025....NASA has announced that they will find intelligent aliens by then. So hopes to see them before I die. :D

Yes the report says about tie up with Snecma for 90kN engine but do you have anymore details on this new effort? And will Snecma or others will share critical tech ? Cause that will hurt their business if proprietary knowhow is passed on. This will result in no future orders for all the engine suppliers.

2025?, NAH bro, u can die by the end of 2023 :wave:. Thats good enough.:agree::agree:

Snecma deal was also cancelled in favor of a global tender.
Now IAF needs engines more than 110 kn.

To be really a potent air force India needs to increase its serviceability of current Russian flankers which are highly un reliable , concentrate on improving LCA mk 2 quality , performance , potency , serviceability and quantity .
French planes are known to be highly available and of best quality so buying them was wise move even f 16/18/15 dont match their availability rate and performance , banking on Russian junk for future is not wise

Apparently hit around less than 50% availability if their Controller and Auditor General report is to believed.

It has been improved since then as more parts are being manufactured in India now.

. . . . .
Russian planes have this problem worldwide and FYI your beloved jf 17 uses same Russian junk engines which cause mantainence issues in mig 29 , so is case with Chinese their 80% fleet uses Russian components, engines, design and hence has inherited same Russian mantainence nightmares.

Only craft which is highly available in your arsenal is american f16 i dont count mirage 3/5 as they are obsolete and useless in this era just like mig 21/23/27 in Indian air force

Sure, but aircraft complexity only compounds the problem. And try dragging in the Pakistan air force in one for the IAF again and you will never post in the forum again.

.
After the fact finding efforts, it was noticed that the serviceability of the aircraft went up by seven per cent from 49 per cent in the last eight to nine months. The IAF is striving to take it up to 70 per cent by the end of this year.

See India is located in a humid tropical location and has different weather patterns to Russia so there will be some issues which will arise from this.

An analysis of 69 incidents of technical troubles in the aircraft showed that in 33 cases, the reason was due to the chips in the oil and vibration in engine bearings.
In 11 cases, low pressure of lubricating oil was the fault and other faults were identified in eight cases.

No mention of F35 for our Navy? :usflag:
