25th Anniversary of Tiananmen Square

isn't it an introspection time?
Yes, it is. So are you going to take your own advice and 'introspect' yourself as to what the man asked ?

And yet a couple of the posters here who decry democracy and America's view of it....live in the good ole' USA!

Not a single tear or cheer by American imperialist for the East Ukrainian tank man, also know as "armed terrorist Russian spetnaz invader" in U.S. approved media, when he tried to walk hands up in front of a group of armored vehicle on their way to crack down citizens by force.

They don't care about democracy, freedom or the people of any country besides maybe those with lobbies in Washington. Only geopolitical interest and making enemies look like villains even when they have to lie, lie so much it hurts, straight into you face even when they know you know they are lying.

it waz a good step, there should be contro, and one should do everything to do it, i support China on this, just like Hijjaj Bin Yusuf

Meh Tiananmen is old news constantly brought up by the media. In 2025/2030/2040/2050 Chinese history will judge Deng made the right call looking at what happened to Russia in the 90's.

Dude no need to wait till 2030 or 2050, we already know Deng made the right decision. Only those liberals in Mainland and HK keep believing PLA massacred Chinese civilians and they will continue to believe that after 2050.

I could care less about their views they will know it was the right decision on the dates I've added, just the hope CPC doesn't turn all pansy like the KMT did on the 228.

KMT never did that much spine to begin with, considering the 1912 revolution is incomplete and never addressed a lot of the fundamental problems the nation had. As result, much of KMT or rather Jiang's power relied on foreign powers. It would be rather tough to stand up against foreign aggressors when they are the ones behind your power in the first place. CCP, on the other hand, secured its independence against US in 1950 and against USSR in 1969 through its own effort.

These protests were funded and backed by the Yankee regime. CIA hands were all over this.

that is your idea only. why claim , that is your domestic problem.
if you try to convince everyone, give evidence pls

That's chutzpah! If those who do really hate it so much, then please do the rest of us patriotic Americans a favour and get out. Please leave. Go to the dictatorship of your choice and try and be happy and successful there.

It is the hight of ungratefulness and bad manners to come to another's house and then bad mouth them.

in addition to that. Some of the same PDF bellicose keyboard warriors who live very comfortably in the USA (and other western countries) are usually some of the first ones who will scream for bloodlust and war. All while sitting back on their very comfy couches in far away lands.

Actually, having lived in US allow me to know just exact what the other side is like and I am not impressed. Remember the CNN article where the woman proudly announced that "because Obama-care, I can just quit my job"? That's not a healthy altitude for any nation. Remember those student that barely scraped together a C in high school and think they are entitled to everything in life? That's what the little welfare competition in the "democratic" election have created. They are feasting on the fruit of actual hard working Americans of the previous generation. You know, those straight laced old coots that doesn't know personal freedom if it hits them in the face? They are the ones that actually made US into a world power, not the ones fattened themselves on their predecessor's success.
If you guys review my old posts, you will know that I am an electric engineer. When I walked on campus and see my fellow engineers, I see mostly Chinese and Indians. It got so bad that the H1 visa has specially allowance for foreign engineers to work in US. When you guys are complaining that immigrants are taking your job, did you stop and think maybe that's the only way US government could actually keep enough people that can run these vital positions in the society? The idea that "I get a vote=I am entitled to everything without effort" has done enough damage in USA, a country that has a huge starter's advantage and now imagine what it would do to a third world country.

well my all Chinese colleagues here are pro democracy and abhor the Tianamen incident.. they ant army to be under state's control rather than under control of party.. in their view Dr Sun Yat-Sen is bigger leader than Mao Ze Dong!

Dude did you even understand what he said.????

Everyone is pro democracy, we just don't agree that US model is the only model for democracy.

The ultimate purpose of any political system is making the people's live better. The the pre-condition of making the people's live better is making the country stronger. Democracy is good because it allows a country to utilize its population and talent better than feudalism or theocracy.

Now, one of the most common mistake is treating communism and democracy as antonyms. They are not. Democracy is a political system where all citizens participate equally. Its antonyms would be feudalism , theocracy or monarchy, where only certain groups or caste participate in the government. Communism is sub-branch of socialism, which is an economic system where stresses the importance of government regulation. Its antonyms would be capitalism where stresses freedom from government regulation.

Elections are about selection process of government officials. The fact is, both US and China both uses representative election. The only difference is that in US, the local election is on selecting one of the two parties where the candidate of the party is determined beforehand in a closed circle election. In China, the local election determines second level representatives and these representatives vote farther for candidates. This is in contrast to Russia and Iran's system, where the local vote goes directly to the candidate.

The reason we think US' definition of democratic nation is silly is because China fit the definition that democracy is a system where all citizens participate equally in government. The fact is, the very first line of China's constitution identifies China as a democratic nation lead by the people. Just because we don't use the exact same selection process as US by no means make us non-democratic. It is even funnier when US accuse Putin being undemocratic when it is no secret that US election is determined by powerful business elites.

Dude did you even understand what he said.????

I understand perfectly. It essentially comes down to "if you don't like us, why are you here" and my answer is that I am here for things I can learn, for example, knowledge and expertise in electrical engineering, but I am not here for this particular version of democracy.
