25 Years of Exile of Kashmiri Pandit : What happened on January 19, 1990 ?

@Indo-guy

You want to accept and go along with an "imperfect world" (I hardly think what happened to the pandits qualifies as just common garden variety "imperfect world" .....).

I am not.

I would rather fight to right an imperfect world. Balls to propriety and political correctness and other such meaningless limitations.

Did I say that what happened to pandits is common garden variety of ' imperfect world ' ???

I said that it is a great tragedy ...just like other tragedies that have besieged India .
I said we need to make sure that we do not allow repeat of such situations .
I also said that we need to look at the present and future for solutions rather than keep fighting with past .
and I also said that we live in an imperfect world where compromises are the mainstay . we can't take extremist position on the issue .

nobody has compelled to adhere to my point of view . Take guns , go to valley , kill few Kashmiri muslims who have occupied homes of Kashmiri pandits ..and feel good about it .
NOBODY is stopping you from doing that ..meanwhile be ready to face consequences of your actions . Since you are not a defeatist and you are a perfectionist determined to create Perfect just world order ..BE MY GUEST !!!

" What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet lose their soul in the process ? " - Matthew

Now you say that you enjoy death of terrorists . which is a very convenient narrative . In your previous posts when you said that IS has killed 50,000 persons or slayed current generation of 'yahoos' you did not refer them as terrorists .

sure each and every one who was killed among those large number of people can't be terrorist .

This is where is the sad part - that you derive pleasure in all this .

Question is not whether you have managed to stay or not ...question is what price you have paid ?

It seems you have paid a very huge price ... and that is of yourself .
Q: " What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet lose their soul in the process ? " - Matthew
Ans: My life.

:D I loved the last line - ...'and that is yourself'. :D
Well, its give and take...so if I have given up humanity in exchange for being rational and alive... I will choose this everytime I am given the choice. :)

And yes, you are correct - I would guess about half the number are terrorists or yahoos. The rest are certainly accomplices, family who knew something but kept details fearing punishment, friends who were at the wrong place at the wrong time etc etc. In the end you forget one thing - human life has much less value in Kashmir valley (hindus/muslim/sikh/buddhist) since 1984. Not the Sikh riots...it was Maqbool Bhat who was hanged. Like everything that is subsidised in the Valley, so is Life. All our lives.

so say if you are forced to convert at gun point - the rational you - what will you choose ? I guess you will choose the life and become ' yahoo ' . Right !!!

and why can't you just call them muslim ? is there any rationality in that too ?

This is going way off topic ...but I am just curious to know . You can chose to not to answer ...

Muslim =/= yahoo. :)
And the choice you talk about is Islamic Law as per all Fiqhs ...except the Hanafi fiqh that allows dhimmis to live, albeit with Jizya. I don't know what I will do in that case. Probably choose death. One time discomfort is better than

That does not sound very rational choice ...

Happy to hear that.

Sentiment has no place for what our generation needs to do.
What choice do I have? :D I don't want to live in a 1 room Soviet style house in a damp Pandit colony in hot Delhi.
There are many many Kashmiri Muslims who are good people. I have lived with them and regularly get together to booze - right here in Bangalore. But none are from Srinagar.

Trust you me, it is very rational. Unlike what many expects, I am extremely calm and cool. I am completely in control, and there is no sentimental mumbo jumbo. :P

On the contrary I feel you are very sentimental and emotional guy ...

You just do not want to acknowledge that and are trying to hide it behind so called ' rationality '

Your take on how the song Bismil actually stands for vilification of Matarnda Sun temple ...is laughable and it is born out of deeply ingrained hatred towards Kashmiri Muslims ...

Your emotions are oof course likely influenced by the suffering of your family .

You may pretend to be calm and cool guy ...but I do not see how song like Bismil which is an artistic endeavor can be seen as deliberate act of vilification of hindu temple by " rational " person like you .

Happy to hear that.

Sentiment has no place for what our generation needs to do.

I guess your generation is going to be one without sentiments and any sense then !

Thank God for calling them Kashmiri muslims ...so far you were calling then " Yahhos " ( I guess with some derision ...)

Sentiment is ok at home. It has no place in hard decisions which need to be taken with cold logic.

So sentiment is basically an expendable appliance that you detach from yourself and keep it at home ...and move around in life otherwise without it ?

Absolutely. It can be switched on or off. The triggers could be manifold, taught, trained, conditioned.
