I just replied in context of your post. You didn't even realize before making that stupid post that Liquor is not banned in Pakistan & if you thinks that legalizing a problem is a solution then India would have legalized the rapes already

Drinking moonshine - wood alcohol - is always risky but what is reprehensible here is that imbibers were tricked into it, thinking they were drinking safe stuff: not wine, but distilled spirits.

Misrepresentation resulted in death. In the U.S. the minimum charge against the perpetrators would thus be manslaughter. Has anyone been arrested yet?

There may not be any arrests as the investigations have REVELED the two sellers also consumed their product and died along-with the unfortunate lot. It does not fit in surrounding circumstances. On the eve of Christmas such number of minority people bubbled their own recipe !! There is a manufacturer somewhere with a backfiring still and greed but well protected. ISLAMABAD: Twenty-four people, mostly Christians, were killed and dozens more sickened after consuming toxic liquor on Christmas Eve in Toba Tek Singh, police said Tuesday.

"According to latest information, 24 people including 22 Christians and two Muslims were killed after consuming the toxic liquor brewed by the residents in Mubarakabad Basti on Christmas Eve", local police official Imran Atif told AFP.

He added at least 60 people were taken ill.

Meanwhile, authorities have formed an inquiry committee under DSP Atif Imran to probe the matter.

While wealthy Pakistanis buy bootlegged foreign alcohol at heavily inflated prices, the poor often resort to home-brews that can contain methanol, commonly used in anti-freeze and fuel.

Eleven Christians died in October after consuming toxic liquor at a party in Punjab province.

In October 2014 at least 29 drinkers were killed after consuming methanol-tainted liquor over the Eid public holidays.

Deadly liquor was made from aftershave lotion: police

TOBA TEK SINGH: Police on Wednesday said the culprits adulterated after shave lotion with chemicals sand sold it as liquor in Toba Tek Singh that has so far claimed 35 lives.

The suspects, Iqbal, Kamran and Adeel, knew that aftershave is intoxicating because of the presence of spirit in it, said District Police Officer (DPO) Toba Tek Singh Usman Akram Gondal, at a press conference today.

They purchased 20 liters of aftershave lotion from Shorkot and sold it as liquor after adulterating it with chemicals.

Iqbal has died of consuming same toxic moonshine, whereas Kamran and Adeel are being treated at hospital along with several others.

The death toll from consumption of this toxic mixture rose to 35 on Wednesday. Around 30 affectees still remain under treatment at DHQ Toba Tek Singh and Allied Hospital Faisalabad.

The incident occurred in Muhalla Mubarakabad of Christian Colony here on Christmas, when several people were hospitalised after they consumed toxic liquor.

Police further said that they were investigating five under custody suspects pertaining to the incident.

Isn't it unfortunate to find poison when expecting to get high on liquor and to find intoxicating liquor when expecting to die of poison

Every year incidents like this happen across our country.
Ah... mentality of people is more responsible for these kind of accidents.I never heard any kind of accident involving educated person died of liquor poisioning.

poor or purchasers of loose alcohol are victims. Moonshiners often use fermenting agent for overnight production. I remember a huge quantity of alcohol was seized at Lahore dry port and the tanker was all sold loose by the security guards. Many praised the contents of it. Although the original "Juice" was finished quickly but legend took long long time to die after a similar incident.
