2208 CLASS STEALTHY MISSILE FAST ATTACK CRAFT
In 2004, foreign intelligence and observers began to notice that the PLA Navy was building a new class of missile fast attack craft (FAC). The mysterious vessel, fearing a unique wave-piercing catamaran hull design with evident radar cross-section reduction features, were first spotted in Qiuxin Shipyard of Shanghai. So far at least three vessels (pennant number 2208, 2210, and 2211) have been built. It is not clear whether there are more hulls to come.

It was 2nd Artillery Force IRBMs aimed at European USSR. It did not work as intended as it scared the Soviets enough to almost execute a nuke strike supported armour thrust towards Lop Nor. Only American disapproval swayed the Soviets from carrying out their plans.

Well thats some thing new and interesting. So you're suggesting that its a fake, just to dodge the enemy.

I'm not suggesting anything. We know that the original rockets were HE armed for several reasons.

1) They were having problems with the warhead designs.
2) The nukes were and still are under civilain control, not military.
3) Accuracy sucked. Odds were that they would have missed Moscow all together.

However, the Chinese certainly left the impression that their rockets were mated to nukes; primarily to divert any Soviet strike away from their population and industrial centres.
