The Indian, dare I say Pakistani cricket culture as well? .. is plagued with this whole "Senior member" bs when it comes to squad selections.. kinda makes sense even. It'd be very hard to drop either Broad or Anderson, what with their shiny records etc..

The sheer pace of Mark Wood might have made a difference. Guys like Warner, Smith, Marnus, their cream lot, basically, could arguably have used his pace against him, sure.. but there's still nothing like express pace when it comes to running through your no 9s thru 11s.. be a turkey shoot for the likes of Lee, Waqar or Shoaib etc against bats the likes of Pat Cummins.
