2020, the safest year for IAF with only 1 fighter aircraft crash

2 years before in 2018 IAF lost more than a dozen aircrafts and helicopters with nearly 20 deaths

Even a broken clock is right twice in a day. Same was the case for IAF in 2020

In 2021 it would be back to normal for IAF

You can't crash something that doesn't flies. You can crash that TATA truck it's towed on to though.

how shamefully they talk where shame must be prevailing to keep mouth shut.

When even by conservative estimates, the top IAF aircraft is less than 50% serviceable, leaves little to imagination the availability for the rest of the fleet. When they don't fly, they don't die. Alas you are bound to have few crashes.

For IN or IAF, those planes will be used in case of war so their significance is same. As far as I remember, India lost 3 Mig 29s in 2020.
Same can be said about USAF and USN too as well as RAF and RN but both keep accident stats separate

47% is very old figure from 2015. It improved to 60% by August 2016 and is now over 70%:
In December 2015, India’s accountability watchdog, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), stated that the IAF’s Su-30MKI fleet’s serviceability stood at 46% (today it is at 60%). In other words, of the IAF’s 210 Su-30MKIs, upwards of 115-126 were grounded for maintenance and repairs. The IAF needs 70-75% of its Su-30MKI fleet to be combat-ready.

2020, the safest year for IAF with only 1 fighter aircraft crash

- January 6, 2021

Yesterday at around 1815 hours , a MiG-21 Bison aircraft of Indian Air Force crashed near the Suratgarh in Rajasthan due to technical malfunction, fortunately pilot ejected safely.
Within 5 days of 2021, IAF experienced the crash of one fighter aircraft jet, meanwhile despite being the worst year for the whole world, 2020 was the safest year in Indian Air Force history with the loss of only one aircraft in 2020.
Indian Air Force had lost 42 fighter aircrafts in between 2012-21. Out of 42 aircrafts, 12 were MiG-21 Bison which is around 28 per cent of total fighter aircraft crash.

Considering the data of last 9 year (2012-20), 2019 was the un-safest year for IAF with the lost 8 fighter aircrafts in accidents. Meanwhile 2020 is the safest year in the history of Air Force with the loss of only one aircraft.

During the same period Indian Air Force reported loss of 12 MiG-21 Bison, 10 Jaguar, 7 MiG-27 (retired in 2019), 3 Mirage 2000, 3 MiG-29 UPG and 7 Sukhoi Su-30MKI.
Tejas MK1 inducted into the service of IAF in 2016 is the safest aircraft for Air Force with zero accident, while MiG-21 is the un-safest aircraft for IAF.

In last 9 year, IAF reported Four fighter aircraft crash in 2012, Six crash each in 2013 and 2018, Three in 2014, Seven loss in 2015, Five in 2016, Two in 2017, Eight in 2019 and only One in 2020.
Total 8 pilots died in all fighter aircraft crashes since 2012.
Why IAF need to replace MiG-21 Bison ASAP
MiG-21 is the only aircrafts in the service of IAF which has a love & hate relationship with the generation of pilots.
Since 1970, around 180 IAF pilots and 40 civilians killed in MiG-21 crash. From 1963 MiG-21 has had a total number of 285 accidents, which is around 25 percent of IAF total fighter aircraft accidents.

This is how, MiG-21 earned its famous title of ‘Flying Coffin’ and its need to replace as soon as possible by Light Combat Aircraft Tejas.
LCA Tejas took its maiden flight in 2001, since then LCA didn’t experienced any crash. Tejas is the only fighter aircraft in the world who didn’t reported any major accident during trials.
LCA Tejas is considered as the one of the most safest fighter aircrafts in the world. Apart from safety, LCA also impresses us as a combat platform.
Tejas MK1A will come with advance Uttam Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar and a unified Electronic Warfare suite.
Integration of Beyond Visual Range Astra MK1/2/3 and Astra IR, Smart Anti airfield weapon and BrahMos NG will add more teeth to LCA platform.
The combo of low Radar Cross Section and long range Astra MK3 Air-to-Air Missile will going to significantly increase the BVR capability of Tejas.

There’s no doubt that Tejas is the solid replacement for MiG-21, but HAL also required to increase the production rate of LCA to fill gap quickly.

Guess after 27 feb IAF isn’t flying any more

Depends on flight hours by aircraft type as well - but can also be a factor of institutional change since the IAF has (reportedly ) more competent leadership in charge who knows what they are doing and not a fat&flabby braggart looking for publicity (so far)

IAF flew more in 2020 than in any other year.

Infact even during April 2019 to March 2020 period (12 months) i.e. before Covid lockdown, there were only two IAF fighter jet crashes
Fake claim. The country is under strict lock down and low economy activities. Not much flying was done.

Fake claim made by you with zero proof. No lockdown was imposed on military bases.

Anyways even in the year before lockdown (Apr 01 2019 to March 31 2020) there were only 2 IAF fighter crashes so pretty mcuh the same ultra low.

India is a country proven with low credibility when comes to any of your data. Your words cannot be trusted.

one 12 month period that makes you look good means nothing. In years 2018-2020 India lost 33 planes. Yes, 33. Years 2015-2018 IAF also lost 33 planes to crashes.

That is 3 full squadrons of planes lots over a 6 years period.

No opinion, no bias here, just plane facts.

Between 2015 and 2020 IAF

Lost 66 planes to crashes

Retired 4 MIG-27 squadrons and 4 MIG-21 squadrons in same period.

So between 2015-2020 IAF lost 11 Squadrons to retirement and crashes.

Assuming all MIG-21 BIson Squadrons and Jaguar Squadrons will also be retired in next 6 years, and if historic crash rates continue, IAF will lose another 3 squadrons to crashes and another 14 squadrons to retirement. Total of 17 squadrons.

All you have currently on order to replace these is 2 squadrons of Rafales.
