More than 200 suspected militants laid down their arms and vowed to abandon violent struggle at a ceremony held at Balochistan Chief Minister's Secretariat on Monday.

"The ferraris who laid down their weapons belonged to various Baloch separatists groups," said Balochistan government spokesperson Anwarul Haq Kakar.

Kakar, however, revealed that the suspected militants laid down their weapons under the Balochistan political reconciliation policy initiated by the present coalition government.

"More than 75 militants came from Afghanistan and laid down their arms before the officials and vowed to struggle for betterment of the country and nation," he added.

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Amir Riaz and other high level civilian and military officials were also present on the occasion.

Zehri, while addressing the weapons laying ceremony, urged upon the exiled Baloch leaders including Hyrbiar Marri, Brahamdagh Bugti and Javed Mengal to come back and abandon their violent struggle.

"Javed Mengal come back I will receive you, Brahamdagh Bugti come back, Sarfaraz Bugti will receive you", said Nawab Zehri .

"We were Pakistanis, we are and will remain Pakistanis", Nawab Zehri added.

"Educate your children, you are now our responsibility," Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Amir Riaz told the suspected militants adopting peaceful lives.

"It is not a surrender, rather we all welcome you back."

Very glad to hear that,

We need to allocate more projects for the welfare of Balochistan whether in CPEC or government funded. The current proportion is thoroughly unfair for the people of Balochistan and I believe only the development will be able to kill the desires of handful amount of traitors who manipulate the facts to play with he emotions of ordinary baloch people.

The other day I was watching a TV program and was surprised to know that despite rhe population of Balochistan being just 5 million, there are at least 20 million Baloch people living in Pakistan across other provinces. They technically belong to Balochistan but move out for better job opportunities and all. I am sure if there are enough job opportunities, The baloch community will be able to work for the prosperity of this province by their own and obviously its just 1 out of several communities living there so this province is not entirely empty is it shows in the map

isn't it shame that few minutes live ceremony was shown on one famous tv channel but now no one is reporting this ceremony including that channel.
balochistan ka haq mar rhe han.

Pakistan should thank MODI for his recent statements regarding Balochistan which really opened eyes of some dishearted brothers in balochistan.I hope federal and provincial govt's would now work hard to bring balochistan at par with developed areas of pakistan

Great news, now priority should be to accommodate these guys in govt sector or at least govt should lend some money to these people so they can start their own small businesses to assure they won't go back to militancy!

QUETTA (Dunya News) – At least 82 militants surrendered and handed over their weapons to the authorities in a ceremony held at CM House in Quetta on Monday.

The militants belonging to Mashkai and other areas laid down their weapons before Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri and the law enforcement officials.

Spokesperson for the government of Balochistan, Anwar-ul-Haq told media that more than 800 militants belonging to various banned organizations have surrendered under the programme to ensure peace in Balochistan.

The militants claimed that they were misled by certain elements to partake in subversive activities.
