What's new

2016 on PDF

. .
Eh... I guess? I really only stick to Naval affairs, since that's what I know best from serving time on Royal Norwegian navy and Coast Guard ships while in the Royal Norwegian Air Force's 330 SAR Squadron, and that I work with unmanned underwater vehicles professionally.

But that's my forte so there's not much I'm not already familiar with floating around PDF. And outside of that I either post pictures or troll the Member's Section and there's not much learning to do there either when you're controlling the content.

Poster of the year? Despite leaving I still love @Aepsilons @SvenSvensonov @LeveragedBuyout and @PARIKRAMA though they've been much less active in recent months. Very high quality members and it's a shame we don't see them as often.

@Armstrong is still my favorite to talk with and I like @waz for being a good friend.

Oh geez where to begin:wacko:? Ok I'll just be diplomatic. Despite my personal feelings towards some members and their content, as a moderator I am swore to treat everyone equally, even if I have personal misgivings about them or their posting habits.

I want to avoid any problem members, but whether or not I do is up to them, not me.

I really loath being part of discussions:sick:. Funny right? I go on the occasional long post dissecting each element of a specific point, take or item and do my best to provide quality and substance to my areas of interest, but I rarely respond to people quoting or tagging me.

I kind of have to be in the right mood to want to interact with people sometimes, and if I'm not "feeling it", don't expect a reply or rebuttal.

I make excepts for my mod duties of course and promptly respond to reported posts, items stuck in the moderation queue or tags when requested.

@waz big time. He's the best:happy:.

Nah, I have the power to directly voice my concerns or commendations now. But I'd like to express my happiness at being part of the team and helping to make PDF a more friendly and welcoming forum for all members to express themselves in, within reason of course.

...

I guess that answers the questions posed informally, doesn't it?

I think you didn't read my original post attentively before. :D

And yes questions are answered informally. By the way @waz is no doubt a really nice person. Always feel comfortable to approach him for his moderation. @waz bro cheers. :D

Ps: best thing about starting this thread I don't have to answer. Lol

I am very aware:D, me and him have had quite the heated arguments against the Israelis:partay:.

I too had couple of times. :D

Nah, I read through it but didn't really feel like answering at the time. Typically I keep these types of things to myself. It doesn't really serve anyone's interest to know who I want to avoid or who I favor, and with people asking for my views a lot too - especially as prior to my promotion to Mod I had the title of "Professional" and a large database of knowledge on military systems, and thus was a prime candidate to be asked for their views - I didn't want to admit I don't actually like responding or discussing with others unless I either like the topic, the person or feel like doing so regardless of my feelings towards either, though the latter is far more selective.

I picked out the one thing I wanted to answer, what item of significance happened to me this year and left it at that at the time, but have since decided to open up a bit more as well, though I still hold more then I'm letting on close to my chest.

Oh so this credit goes to me? :yahoo:

I've made seven posts on this thread (now eight), only one of them covers your original post in any depth. The other six are either truncated versions selectively picking points to elaborate on, or off-topic points covering tangential discussions that arose.

It was mostly that I felt bad about not answering the questions posed that led to me actually doing so above, so yes, in a way the credit is yours. Create interesting topics, and even the most reserved or shy people will open up, not that I'm reserve or shy by any means.
