No, FC-1/JF-17 was not there in air show. Even PAF was not there. Here is list of A/C which were there

If you can read Chinese and check FC-1 news one week ago, you'll find every Chinese media was saying that 2 FC-1/JF-17 would present the 2008 Zhuhai airshow. but finally there were only simulation of JF-17 capsule and its model in a Sino-Pak Cooperation exhibition room.

there were no doubt Pakistani officials present but why not JF-17?

according to Chinese Sohu news, PAF called it off after schedule was made, worring that the JF-17 technical properties might be revealed. but analyst says it's morelikely due to the delivery burden on the Manufacturer, and the few JF-17 fighters PAF has obtained are engaged with dense test-flights.

anyway, I dont think one can take an airshow as measure on friendship. Indians were invited but I bet you would not really think India and China are true friends.

Pakistan's brigadier Junaid,who is in charge of the Pak projects in China, was telling reporter from China's Global Times about JF-17's absence at the Zhuhai airshow.

I think it is highly likely that the JF-17 may well be showcased in IDEAS 2008 on November 24. As per the recent Jane's defence weekly article on JF-17 both PAF and PLAAF are seeking to market the fighter. Having said that, it is possible the PAF may decide not to.

actually same thing happened on J-10 on last Zhuhai airshow in 2006. it's nothing out of ordinary that an airforce doesn't want their plane-under-development to showcase.

J-10's debut not only stands for its successful project completion,but also hints that next gen project has begun.
