NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has arrested SIMI-IM operative Abdul Subhan Qureshi, one of the most wanted terrorists in the country for masterminding the 2008 Gujarat blasts.
The Special Cell of Delhi Police nabbed Qureshi after a brief exchange of fire.
The hunt for Qureshi began a day after 21 bomb blasts ripped through Ahmedabad on July 26, 2008. His name was first announced as a suspect by the Gujarat police in connection with an email signed 'al-Arabi' of terror outfit Indian Mujahideen, claiming responsibility for the bombings, which was sent to TV channels.
Qureshi, alias Tauqeer, is also wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection to terror attacks in Delhi, Bengaluru and the 2006 Mumbai local train bombings. The Gujarat ATS and Ahmedabad crime branch are in touch with Delhi special cell officials in light of the dreaded terror suspect's arrest.
Dubbed 'India's Bin Laden', Qureshi is an expert in the art of changing his appearance, which helped him give the slip to cops on a number of occasions, senior intelligence officers conjecture.

Qureshi is also referred to as a 'techie-bomber', as he is said to be a bomb expert and had worked at top Indian IT companies located in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. It is believed that he was recruited by SIMI in 1998, and then went on to establish the Indian Mujahideen.

I have heard some statement of this group after some incident that they are doing this because they (Muslims) are living in worst condition in India with no equal rights and are more vulnerable to violence hence are forced to take weapons or else they will be killed by Hindus like so many other Muslims killed/lynched in India on daily bases which no one in India care about.

yeah I understand that muslims get kidnapped all over the world , not just in India.

Why just him alone ???? All those alleged terrorists/freedom fighters around the world (including Pakistan) have similar stories of oppression or pain to share. Does that justify their action ??? At-least the IM guy's are not brave enough to blow themselves for their ideology, rather they plant bombs and IED's to kill innocents. And if you still justify them, then you will have to admit that you justify the actions of every other Muslim who had attacked and blew themselves to kill hundreds of innocents across Pakistan as well.

You should offer them the option of moving to Pakistan now in person and see the reaction .
