Some one said long ago " Afghanistan is a graveyard of great empires"
The general perception is that the real american race (caucasian) feels dejected over romny's defeat. Obama didnt do wonders to the economy, jobless rate has risen.
I am unable to comprehend this behavior of american people, why and what have made them sign these petitions.
has quited this thread for 5 pages now, suddently have the urge to come back becuase this is a very good question.
These petition is created to cater some people, these petition, along other petition such as "Save our rainforest" or "Save our puppies" are created by groups that want to voice their opinion.
People who drove to those petition because they have the need to express themselve, and they have want something get done, again, these secession along with other petition such as "Save the World" or "No More War" are just simply group that want to communication idea with each other but do not know how man ysupporter (People with the same voice" they have.
In short, if you believe in secession, you will be motivated to sign those petition, otherwise if you do not believe in secession, you will just laugh about just as any other petition.
So it indicates that some how some where in usa there is an imbalance in society ? people' voice isnt being heard ? The number of people who have signed these petitions are surprisingly too many.
Suddenly their are more people ignoring statue of liberty ?

I saw in somebody's signature here that 2013 is the year of civil war in America !!!
To answer your question...yes, the people SHOULD have the right to be heard. Will this splinter the US? No. Is it known that a sizeable minority are unhappy with the current direction? Yes. (Sizeable being debateable...even 1 million among 320 million is a small fraction...but here they get heard.)
A case of democracy being abused and used for wrong political and personal reasons. Should people be given the freedom to act irresponsibly? Should they be allowed to legitimately divide their own country or vote cartoon character or cat as a president?

Obama did the right thing by pushing for a change in gun law. The last thing you want are for these cowboys to go on horse backs shouting and firing off their pistols in the streets. We've already witnessed the damage done by the Syrian rebels and freedom fighters to their countries. We don't want these Republican numbnuts repeating the same.
Petitions by definition a way to get the people's voice heard. And please note that anybody in the world can sign in. Go ahead, try it yourself:

Its really counter productive to have USA as combination of states they have nothing in common
also the all have their own laws anyways so its easier for these rouge states to disassociate and make their own laws and form their own government and tribe leaders
Most of the war mongering states can easily be identified they have nothing in common with the
other state which are pro immigration and Latino
LOL what?
Would they prefer Romney instead, the guy who said that people should be able to open windows on airplanes?
