Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri'ne ait 2 RF-4E tipi keşif uçağı, Malatya'nın Akçadağ ilçesi yakınlarında düştü. Kazada 4 pilotun şehit olduğu bildirildi.
Maalatya 7’nci Ana Jet Üssü’nüden havalanan iki RF-4 tipi askeri eğitim keşif uçağı saat 19.40 sıralarında Akçadağ ilçesi Ekinciler Mevkii’nde düştü. Kazada uçaklarda bulunan 4 pilot şehit oldu.
TSK: "4 KAHRAMAN PİLOTUMUZ ŞEHİT OLDU"
Olayla ilgili Genelkurmay Başkanlığı'ndan yapılan açıklama şöyle:
"Bu akşam 18.07’de Malatya’da konuşlu 7’inci Ana Jet Üssünden planlı gece uçuş eğitimi için kalkan iki adet RF-4E Keşif Uçağı ile saat 19.05’te radar irtibatı kesilmiş ve derhal arama faaliyetlerine başlanmıştır. Saat 20.45’te iki uçağımızın da enkazına ulaşılmış ve maalesef dört kahraman pilotumuz şehit olmuşlardır. Bu elim kaza neticesinde şahadet mertebesine erişen kahraman pilot arkadaşlarımıza Allah’tan rahmet kederli aile fertlerine, Silahlı Kuvvetlerimize ve yüce Türk Milletine başsağlığı dileriz."

Two RF-4 jet fighters belonging to Turkish Air Forces crash late Feb. 24 in Malatya, southeastern Anatolia region

Two RF-4 jet fighters belonging to Turkish Air Forces crashed late Feb. 24 in Malatya, southeastern Anatolia region due to unknown reasons, leaving two pilots and two technicians killed, the Turkish army has said.
In a written statement the Chief of General Staff confirmed that two fighters that have taken off from Malatya Erhaç 7th Air Base at 6.07 p.m. were lost radar connection at 7.05 p.m. “The debris of our two planes were found at 8.45 p.m and our four hero pilots were martyred,” it said.
The statement said two fighters were crashed because of an accident but did not detail how the accident did occur. Interior Minister Efkan Ala did also confirm that four soldiers were killed in the accident butt declined to give details on how the incident did take place.
The NTV said the incident might have been occurred because of an accident during the formation flight of two jet fighters. The local eyewitnesses mentioned about bad weather conditions.
