QE class is not alone and is accompanied by one of the best destroyers in the world, Type 45 so AWACS is not needed, and EMALS just for launching the aircraft, steam catapult can launch as many aircraft that your Type 003 able to launch but main advantages of EMALS is less stress and wear and tear on launching airframe

China has already sent destroyers to the English channel years ago. Stone age people were able to sail the ocean in rowboats so I don't know why this is some sort of accomplishment. Still doesn't mean it has modern civilized tech like 300 mm wafer fabs.
