Because excluding the developed world, CEE (Central Eastern Europe) is the 3rd most important destination (after ASEAN and Africa) of investment from China. A disturbed CEE also means a disrupted EU/Euro, and that's bad for China exports.

True that. It is hybrid warfare. Like in Yemen where local Aden fighters are backed by Saudi special forces, in Ukraine it is local Donetsk and Lugansk fighters backed by Russian special forces.
