@Saleem

USAF pilots have never flown combat sorties for RSAF, not at least that i am aware of any. USAF instructors were 'training' Saudi pilots, not fighting for them.

These kills were attributed to Saudi pilots who were later awarded.

i was more interested in a probable tomcat vs Eagle bout, that would be something !

One must wonder what the General who planned such a daring raid, and ended up sending F-4s up against the F-15Cs knowing that they will be destroyed, was even thinking or thinking at all.

lets hope when its our time to make such call we do not suffer from your stated dilemma

Wouldn't it be funny , if years later it transpired that these pilots were defecting??

the F-4s were pursuiting Iraqi MIGs into Saudi airspace as usuall.

the MIGs were sent to bomb Khark island and when they find out two Iranian F-4s are patroling the island, they decided to escape to KSA.the Phantoms pursiut them and all of the sudden they realized two F-15 are engaging them.as expected both are shot.

BUT...

the interesting point is several times they posited in lock-on positions but they finally lost by upper US technology.may those brave pilots rest in paradise.
