Very unlikely. It could not have happened without my father's knowledge and cooperation. The Army did nothing behind the back of the State administration. In 1969-70, the State administration was not even sure that it could hold elections; it was the height of the Naxal trouble in Calcutta, and the districts were not quiet either. On the other hand, relations with Pakistan were perfectly peaceful, and nobody expected trouble. Entertainment, perhaps, drama and discord, yes, but this kind of massive trouble, no. This was when Shankar Roychoudhury was a young Brigade Major operating out of Barrackpore, and he and his friends were busy helping the civilians maintain law and order. Both Aurora and Jacob were family friends, and there was never a hint from either of them that the Army was doing this, but in any case, the Army could not have trained MB personnel without the knowledge and consent of the civilian administration.
Definitely not authentic.
